See if installing the VC++ redist yourself helps: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=40784

I'm not really qualified to be offering advice here, but are your source data files clean?

As in, are they from a vanilla distribution with no mods, cracks or hacks applied?

I confirm I have same install on Win Seven 64 (at least seem to be same)
I just added user directory directly under OpenXcom as I did not installed OpenXcom under Program Files but on my data hard-drive

I'm not from the dev team, but many players had some crash and it was usually because of a bad install, and as it works for me, could you perhaps try to manually reinstall like this ?

(IMO, better to install last nightly build as it should provide last improvements, even if perhaps not always fully tested)

Aldorn is right. A common problem is not having the necessary patches installed. I mean the official patches for X-Com (up to 1.4 I think) and the unofficial map fix by Zombie.

I finally got it working by going to the Nightly builds. Using the Zip Archive from the Milestones tab just would not work for some reason. Now my main Open XCom folder looks like this :

And all is well

Strange is that I have the DLL in folder and I don't think anywhere else, but not sure
And the most important is that it works now  :)
