First ever attempt at an alien base assault. (I'm new to original XCOM)
I have 14 of my best soldiers, first turn I get them all laid out nice and OCD like on the elevators ready to breach, I end the turn.
Alien turn:
Floater shoots 2 soldiers through the elevator floor.
One soldier gets mind controlled, shoots another 2 soldiers.
3 soldier panic, 1 of which goes berserk and kills a further 2 soldiers.
So I have 4 soldiers left who aren't panicking or killing everyone.
I ragequitted and started a new game.
Also, one thing i've learned to stop doing is putting my best soldiers at the top of the list so they come out of the skyranger first
