Seriously, I've never actually tried it myself, but it seems to be the thing.

Such a mod would probably be a good idea too.

Adds new resource "psioline" required for psionic equipment and armor. Psioline must be extracted from LIVE psionic aliens.

[IOW, even more icky than the "interrogation" sequences in XCOM 2012.  8)

Attached is a 'psioline' colored armor, which could make your psi armor distinguishable from the vanilla armor.

Edit:
If someone wants to use the armor, the sprite table don't need to be divided. In the 'extraSprites' section of your ruleset you can load it with:

Then it is automatically divided into sub-pictures.
