I'm just in the process of putting together a tank compilation for the Final Mod Pack Project, perhaps I'll draw some inspiration from this. :)

Oh and remember: arcing shots combined with autoshots can cause the game to hang (at least it did with the Piratez Mod's flamethrower, not sure if the newest git fixed this)

It had been fixed a few weeks ago... at least it seems so. If this bug persists, I'll let the Elder Gods know :)

I've always wanted to have the Tank-Cannon fire explosives, instead of AP. An auto-shot feature might be better, or even a machine gun type weapon. But now, with Open XCOM, one can use mods, and make what one pleases.

I like this game.

Regarding your Tank/Grenade Launcher (and certainly for others) that I tested, I had to make a small correction to fix issue in ufopaedia (i.e. initially displaying "HWP Grenades" for both Weapon and Ammunition)

Solution :

1) Under ufopaedia section, replace

with

    weapon: STR_HWP_GRENADE_LAUNCHER

2) Define a new reference under extraStrings as below

i mean all threads in the completed mod section should have tags in square brackets, like [WEAPON] or [HWP] to indicate their content for ease of searching in future, as per my post here: https://openxcom.org/forum/index.php?topic=1700.0
