« on: January 28, 2011, 07:42:14 am »

i am not sure if your project or any about x-com one needs in it (like ufoai, they have different game style.. its sad), most of them private i hate this..  but here it is:

first model done when i only start learning in 3-4 days

second today in 1 day...

interested in your opinion and how bad is it, plz count that i'm noob in this tool yet.. :)

maybe i'll continue to make them and if somebody interested they will be uploaded here

I dont think this extremely-high polygonal 3D models could be used in openxcom, since it has a) sprite graphics b) even for 3d such hipoly isn't an option.
And proportions seems to be badly replicated. Use reference images.

thx for opinion :)
about polygon limits its not a problem
it looks ok even on 40-200~ thousands of them..

about proportions.. ok i will try more accurasy next time and with reference images
thx

about using somewhere.. yep it's a problem, it needs texture, bones.. animations, lots of stuff
i dunno if somebody need that

Those models looks nice, but for now in openxcom they will be unusable - even rendered into 2d sprites, they probably will look strange with rest of graphics.

Maybe in future, there will be openxcom 3d, which will use 3d models for battlescape.
