I've got only two months before invasion starts, so two months till monthly terror mission. That in itself wouldn't be a problem, but somewhere on the internet I stumbled upon post complaining in this mod terror missions have ufos and those ufos have OP turrets on them. Since I figure ignoring/leaving terror mission is a surefire way to ruin your score, I checked the wiki for the turret's stats and holy shit...
This thing has 60 armor, 200 shield (and regenerates 50 each turn!), explosives do only 60% dmg to it... I have gauss rifle lying around with some ammo so figured "no problem, will just research those and blast them away, they do 100 dmg to them since its kinetic and turrets aren't resistant to it and all this packed in just a rifle, not some heavy monstrosity". Well, except production of your own guns and ammo is locked behind interrogating engineer and commander, same for mass driver stuff, interceptors that might be powerful enough to stand a chance at shooting the terror ufo down...
Am I really supposed to just live with severe score penalty at least for a few months till I get my hands on powerful kinetic weaponry? These turrets seem more terrifying that whatever else might await me at these missions simply because no matter what I throw at them, seems like I won't be able to do ANYTHING to them. And I guess even if I kill every single alien out there the mission won't be won since there will still be enemy units on the map.
How do you all deal with your initial terror missions? And how many do spawn at once? Because from the description it looks like even a single turret means a boss fight and likely squad wipe before gauss/mass driver...
