Long Saves on necro thinkpad t43
« on: January 11, 2025, 03:21:53 am »
i'm going through x files right now via OXCE on an old thinkpad t43 on windows xp. I realize it's not a new device to say the least, and generally don't even have performance issues, with one small exception. Saving and loading on larger maps takes quite a long time, up to several tens of seconds. The question is, what can I do to speed up this issue?

I can add one more die to increase the total RAM up to 2 gb, and stick msata ssd via Pata adapter. The second would obviously solve all the problems, but just wanted to make sure there is no other way. Before i threw another 60$ on this old machine.

Going from "tens of seconds" to "instant" sounds about right, albeit not very scientific hehe.
