Adamantium Rat Basement Walls?
« on: April 27, 2023, 12:44:37 am »
Took some new Narlocks, a gnome and a fresh damsel for what I figured would be a milk run clearing rats. Acessible space is clearly 40% of the map, so I find a likely wall and start pickaxing.

Getting nowhere, all character strengths are in the 20/30s, pickaxe damage is 70 or so at the outside.

So I say ok, I have some High Explosive for emergencies.  Plant it, clear the room, and... it does bupkis.  Floor is damaged all walls fine.  Try again in two different spots and in no case can plastique knock down a rat basement wall.

Is this normal?  I feel like it's usually every other whack with a pickaxe with a Gal to get through those walls.  Strength aside, high explosive is specifically designed to work for demolition, and has a higher percentage of its (higher) damage output put towards demolition.  Dafuq?

There is some funky stuff going with these walls... On paper, the HE pack should easily put a dent on them.
