Something I've been wondering about recently. When soldiers are injured or craft damaged they may need recovery/repair time, does this not apply to HWP'S or is it the way the game handles HWP'S? IMO if a tank has been 99% damaged should it not require repair time?

HWPs literally don't exist in the geoscape (as individual objects).

All we know is how many of each type there is in the stores.
They are just numbers on a piece of paper as far as the game is concerned.

They don't have any attributes (id, name, hp, equipment, repair time, anything, ...) and we can't do anything about them or to them.

PS: same for scientists and engineers... they are also just numbers on a piece of paper :)

For future generations, an analogy:

HWPs on the geoscape are like the money on your cash account.
You also cannot say anything about that money... only how much you have.

Battlescape generator is like the ATM, from which you withdraw the money as individual objects (coins and notes).
Suddenly your money exists as objects, with color, weight, size, texture, material damage, width, length, height, nominal value, currency symbol, some president's picture, etc.

Debriefing is like putting the money back into the bank.
You don't have anymore those nice 5 copper coins and 7 different plastic notes, you just have a number (e.g. 423 dollars).
