OCT 2601: How Early first alien base is too early?
« on: August 10, 2021, 11:04:13 pm »
So, I have first year alien base. I remember I saw somewhere that they are not supposed to happen in the first two years. Is it manageable, or is it a game over now? Is it supposed to be like this in this version?

dunno if it should be this, but its easily managable only -500 score per month for the base, and a smidge for the supply runs.

Just be careful to not run across its detection range unless you wanna deal with its fighters. particularly be aware of escorts assigned to returning craft, the craft on the way home from a ground fight is ignored for Hunter killer behavior, but the escort is not and will drag in the escorted craft if it's inside the engagement range.

I had 2 alien bases for a long time (several months, I finally just raided one in Sept 2602).  The score was easily manageable, and them bringing me supplies was nice.  Main reason I waited so long was to get some better armor, I raided it with 2 suits of Juggernaut, 2 or 3 suits of Revenant, and the rest in either Guardian or Defender (well, and 1 nurse and 1 seductress), using the Metallo as the transport.  Once a couple of troops recover, I'll probably pop the other one too.  Luckily, the two bases are/were Church and Trade Guild, so that's a little less scary than it could be.

I actually started the game again, because the base was too close to my first.

I want to ask if I need to research hostages to get a better rating and I wonder if I will be able to get the rating repeatedly every time I interrogate the same person. I had some weird +- 2000k rating swings I wonder why.

So if you research an enemy, capturing said enemy on later missions will give +10 to score. Now if this is a high ranked enemy, chances are that lowers the score you get from combat, but if it's a civilian, govt agent, etc, that increases it from a negative to a positive. Additionally if you research a hostage, you get the score bonus from just researching the hostage and from whatever information they tell you. Not 100% positive on that one tho.

the first interrogation is more valuable, since you get the info they tell you and the one for the captive itself. After that it's just the shared topic.

Since this thread is very similar to what I'm experiencing now I'll ask here.
With M1 patch we have new Sky ninjas bases. And (checked on Blackbeard difficulty) one of them pops up in April of first year. From my observations it (or maybe generated by it crafts) generates about 3000 negative score per month. That's 10 brainer pay checks. Even tho I'm making all missions that game generates I'm only able to balance around 0 score. Is this intended behavior? Is there some magic button that make dealing with this trivial but I'm just not aware of it?

I have a ninja base since april too and my scores in the region look like 960 - 640 - 1920 - 1600 from april to aug 1st where i'm at now. I don't think it's the base that generates 3k by itself. People were reporting "random" massive score hits for a while, i think it was linked to an excavator spam in the region where they sit on the ground all day and generate enemy score or something like that.
