Armor or shields? Wich one is better?

Hey it's me with my stupid questions again:

I always focused on decent armor, 50 minimum is good i think. I never really tried out the shields, because the suits that carry them, have pretty low armor (20~30).

I know there are different colors, in battle i really struggeled against blue and red shields (marsec marines, holy shit...). They use a hybrid of good armor and red shields, but the best thing available to me now is the sear, wich has puny 35 and 30 armor.

What do you guys use more? Or do you change your armors depending on mission and enemies to expect?

In my opinion it is better to have solid armor(and proper resistances). Sheilds tend only be good for only a few hits before needing several turns to regen, if the sources regen at all.

You do need to change outfits based expected enemy forces or your making your own life harder, but that's more about proper resistance then anything.

Resistance>armor>hp(including shields) are what most effective in negating damage.

Yeah, right after writing this question i unlocked the assault marine suit.
Sweet armor with strong shield, it even flies, fantastic.

Is there a way to see the "health" of shields?
