I probably spent a good fifteen minutes getting my squad ready in the early parts of the game, as I always do, preparing for a mission in the European fields; a couple of autocannons, a rocket launcher, and of course the laser rifle made up the bread and butter of my arsenal for this routine small craft crash-site recovery mission. I had tried an early conquest of an alien base on the far side of the Atlantic from me, and it didn't pan out so well as my up and coming promising veteran of two months had been subdued to mind control despite a high bravery and ended up walking into the alien hordes to be shot down by a cyberdisk. I wisely retreated the rest of my experienced troops that day. Anyway, hoping for an easier mission, we got off the skyranger... As soon as I took a step out of the craft onto the gangplank, my (cannon fodder) rookie scout spotted a sectoid hiding -- but not too well apparently -- behind the window of a farmhouse nearby the craft. I paused to take stock of the situation and decided a rocket to tear down that wall might do the trick; fortunately my rocket launcher specialist was in the second row of soldiers and it only took a few steps to also maneuver him onto the first tile of the exit ramp. BOOM, suddenly I see the alien turn screen and I curse, thinking I might have accidentally hit the end turn button in the process. Nope, in fact the mission is over, and the single large rocket took down four, FOUR freaking sectoids that were all hiding in that one building, thus winning the mission. Barely had to take a single step out of the Skyranger...I had a good chuckle to myself, the preparation took a lot longer than the execution
