Struggling with morale?

Great mod. Watched some of Ivan's LP and figured I would have a crack with the mod and see how enjoyable it is.

Played some missions, started to get the hang of it but then started to really struggle with morale. I had one battle where I didn't lose any gals but their morale was at 60 and they started panicking. What am I doing wrong, is there other things in this game that impact morale?

You've stumbled across the Combat Stress mechanic, which Dioxine was kind enough to describe for us in the wonderful in-game Bootypedia.  I'd highly suggest reading it cover-to-cover, and then referring to it often afterwards to increase your satisfaction with Piratez.

The best way to boost morale of course is to kill baddie.  There are some pharmaceutical solutions too that help.

The real reason you are losing morale is a mechanic called "Combat Stress."  Your gal's morale degrades every turn towards the middle of their bravery.  Below a certain level, panics can occur.  Overall, this  mechanic is designed to discourage camping and over-cautious play.  Send your gals out and kill stuff! (Or be killed in glorious battle)

FYI the trigger point for panic is less then 50 morale.
