noob question
« on: May 22, 2015, 06:43:24 pm »
hi! i've been playing xenonauts for quite some time now and i'm just getting myself into (open)xcom. in xenonauts you can send as much interceptors onto a ufo as you want. can you do the same in (open)xcom? if not, will it be available as an option in the future? i was looking for LPs to see how others handle larger ships, but no luck. thx in advance!

Yes, you can.   Send out the interceptors, when the first one arrives, "minimize" the intercept window by clicking on the little button in the upper left of the intercept window with two boxes in it.  This will shrink the intercept to a button in the Upper left side of the screen.  Repeat with other interceptors, until you have a maximum of four ready to engage.  Click on the Buttons in on the left, to open each window, they will tile into a 4 tile grid in the center of the screen.  Click on the attack stances for each craft (aggressive, maximum range, etc), and they will all try to close in on the UFO.  Usually, the UFO will concentrate fire on one of the interceptors, so once one of them starts taking damage, be ready to hit disengage if you want to save it.

Also: This probably explains it better:
