Thanks for all replays but actually this are not the reason i post this suggestion.

By making stuff obsolete modders can have tremendous options to make game more challenge and complex, not by just adding 100 items but make a true tech tree when player must CHOOSE which path to go. And this can be mixed with story when specific events actually remove some options for players.

This way game maybe not about research everything every time, but actually to play on a specific path. For example by researching flying armour player cannot make heavy plasma any more do to x-com policy. Or the opposite scenario, can make plasma but without flying armour. Now try to finish game playing both policies and compare your experience.

Ammo for ufopedia is just very simple example how can this help community.
