Apocalypse avatars
« on: August 25, 2014, 06:22:14 pm »
Hey guys I hope you can help me  ::)

Ive been playing Xcom since release and every now and then i install the old games on my PC, and through lots of messing about i get them working so i can enjoy the nostalgia of how proper gaming was back in the day with some serious sessions of Xcom :)

Now i see all the games r available on Steam, which i guess is kinda cool, but ofc it appears to restrict modding, is that correct?

The main reason im dropping in here is for your help on locating some old Apocalypse mods, specifically the soldier avatars.  Its safe to say the games avatars for the soldiers and scientists were lame so i always played Apocalypse with some cool fan-made avatars.  Which now i cant seem to find anywhere... anyone know where i can get hold of these?

I remember a very good Anime set and a less impressive moviestar set!  :P

Can anyone point me to a decent site thats preserved any Apocalpyse mods?

Its ok i found them!!!

I setup an old gaming PC i had and found the files on there :)

Ive got a few old modding files here. not sure if anyones interested.  I found 3 sets of avatars - Anime set, Tinseltown set & MMA2010 set.  Also found these:-

Xpak3 - a graphical redesign of the weapons & equipment.

Megamod4 - appears to be a mod u can alter some of the city parameters for the police and aliens.

Karadocs mod - an attempt to rebalance the game so it functions better.  Toxin guns and shields r not so powerful for example.

Apatcher - a mod to change organisation raiding settings

Theres a couple i cant identify what they do - overkil11 & mexcomap

Are these files of interest to anyone?

Those files are definitely of interest....

You may want to post them over at the OpenApoc site too. :)

I guess I'd put it in "General Discussion"  and call it classic Apocalypse modding tools/resources.  :)
