Not an original idea - sectopods for reviving the dead?
« on: April 29, 2014, 03:07:48 pm »
Well, on the gamefaqs xcom 2012 forum I keep suggesting that those mech soldiers might be revived dead soldiers.  Perhaps its an option?  Just thinking out loud, maybe sectopod carcasses might be a way to re... incarnate dead soldiers?  You know, keep the body on ice, stick it in the machine, plug it in and voila!  Robocop 2!

If anybody seriously considers it : Note that OpenXCOM already records the fallen agents (Memorial screen) So the game could easily pick a name from the list.

Yeah, pretty sure all the soldier information is saved now. It could totally be made that you buy/build/whatever the machine/soldier, and it could even retain all its stats.

Give it a chance to fail too, just to add stress.
