[Suggestion] Remembering of last chart used
« on: February 11, 2025, 12:16:12 am »
By default it opens on first page, of "alien activity in areas". Which is good for vanilla like games, but can be not much so in mods like Piratez, where (at least in early game which can be long) much more important for attention factor is Score graph from the last tab.

I also think that the last displayed chart should be remembered. Also, it would be nice if there was some indication of which chart tab is currently selected.

That's one less click, so I'm in favour.

No.

Same as here: https://openxcom.org/forum/index.php?topic=12471.0
this would give the player an equivalent of a free planet-wide 100% effective radar/alien activity detector.

"Too many clicks" is the only thing keeping this from being abused.

I understand, but it's not like the extra click is stopping anyone. It literally makes no difference in my eyes, except for adding a tiny annoyance.

The detector is there, sure, but I find its reliability sorely lacking. It doesn't help catch UFOs that much. But maybe it's different for an obsessed player... Fighting player's obsession is good...

I am guilty of this abuse myself (see my Hawaii challenge), and the extra mouse move plus mouse click was the only thing stopping me from absolutely spamming this.

For comparison:

1. OG
- move to graphs
- click on graphs
- move to finances
- click on finances
- move to exit
- click on exit
- move to previous cursor position

This is a lot of movements and clicks, about 3-6 seconds overhead, effective abuse stopper.

2. OXC/OXCE
- press G
- move to finances
- click on finances
- press G again
- move to previous cursor position

Still some mouse movement and one click, about 1-2 seconds overhead, as far as I can say still above the pain threshold.

3. after proposed change
- press G
- press G again

No mouse movement. Practically no overhead (maybe 0.25 seconds?). Spam enabled.

Yeah, I can see it now. It would not have occurred to me, since I have never, ever actually used the graphs for tracking down UFOs - I am only interested in my score...
