Windows 7 and Open Xcom
« on: March 22, 2019, 04:00:22 pm »
I have installed one of the latest Nightlies for OpenXcom, and I am having trouble loading an ongoing game (or any game) from the old TFTD.
I have installed the program onto Win 10, and I get full operation.
I have also installed it to XP and it also works.
Win 7 seems to not want to see the old saves.
Yes, I have found the directory where games are saved (a VTroot/Harddisk 3 or 4).
I have "saved" a game with a funny title to make sure I found IT, and copied the folders GAME 1, ... etc.
I even tried a fresh installation of TFTD, and put on the patch after the OpenXcom install.
No go. Is there something 'up' with Win 7.
It lets me start a whole new game, and I find the saves.

Thanks in advance for any solutions.

Windows 7 Pro SP1, openxcom nightly, original TFTD saves... no problem on my PC, see attached.

Try not installing OpenXcom into Program Files, but on some non-protected location... and saves should be in /Documents/OpenXcom
