Solar's Stolen Sprites Section
« on: December 06, 2015, 12:11:08 am »
Since I sometimes steal sprites from other games, I've decided to make a thread for displaying them. If you like them, feel free to use them for your mods.

For now, here's two I ripped and edited from Diablo: a scavenger and a scorpion. I plan to use both in my future X-Com Files mod.

Actually the scorpion if from Diablo II, not Fallout. It's the small, squishy one from the desert. :)

No worries, Diablo I was so much better.

BTW since this is a thread only for stolen sprites, anyone interested in my latest works please check this thread, I've started uploading stuff (see page 4).

EDIT: Another critter from Diablo.

I think it's from Hellfire. I can't remember this one, and I never had a chance to play Hellfire.

*gets shotgun*  ;D

Diablo II... I play/ed it as long and often as i play/ed Xcom. And though I really liked the first part (those creepy dungeon athmosphere, wow) the second one is/was even better (imho) in terms of replayability.

back to topic: Any tips on making ufopaedia pics for those sprites: I really tried but.... well... let's say it that way: It was a good decision of me to delete those "works" right away, all the horrors of Lovecraft couldn't be more terrible to look at  ;D ;D ;D

But it was still a very good game! I lost countless hours on my Paladin, and I finished it with Assassin too (was way too easy), I certainly played it more than Diablo 1. But it lacked the atmosphere of horror and gore was turned into yet another container type, which I really hold against it.

Hmm... Try the original pictures which are in higher resolution. I'm not home right now, but it was downloaded from here.

EDIT: Another Diablo II sprite, this time it's a giant spider.

EDIT: More stuff from Diablo II: Abominable and Spike Fiend, both as 2x2 units! Since it's so much, I packed everything into a zip and linked to spritesheets.

EDIT: fixed directions on the spider sprite.

Double post, because too many attachments:

Here's some weapons I ripped and converted to Openxcom graphics (with some creative liberties). Most of them are from ZDoom mods, made by various people whose names I sadly don't know. The golden turret-like cannon is from Contra.

EDIT: Upgraded a few sprites and added some new ones.

EDIT: Added a second sheet with more stuff. Again, these weapons (except for Terraria swords) were converted from various assets by zDoom community, I only did the conversion (which sometimes, though not often, required some serious spriting). If you want to use any of it, please contact me and I'll try to identify the original author.

There's a Lollipop Chainsaw chainsaw in this one. :)

EDIT: But wait, there's more!

As always, stolen and modified from zDoom community.

Edit: Changed one weapon in collection 3.
