I'd like to show you guys something that has over the years always succeeded in renewing my interest in X-Com.
Over in the penny-arcade forum, a user called Fishman has been doing a Let's Play of X-Com for nearly three years now. The narration is amazingly good, the deaths of all the posters and their ensuing commentary is also top notch.
It might take a while to read, but you should certainly start at thread one and continue from there and I guarantee, it's like an X-Com visual novel and it is definitely worth it.
