More than 4 ammo types in UFOPedia?
« on: September 07, 2015, 03:00:34 pm »
I seem to recall that someone had an idea to display more than 3 ammo types for weapons by using a 2nd UFOPedia entry but I can't recall or find the thread where this was posted. Anyone knows how to do it?

Make a seperate entry with the ammo type and put it right behind the weapon in the ufopaedia.
That should be the way to go.

I've done it the way one shouldn't go, by contrast :) - by creating a fake weapon - basically a clone of the proper weapon, but it uses just the 3 extra ammo types (so the 3 previous ones aren't displayed), it's named eg. "Weapon (continued)" and is blocked from appearing as an item (cannot buy, cannot produce, recovery: false so it won't appear in the Quick Battle).

The question I have is if ammo types can change the auto fire of a weapon

I don't think it's possible since shot types are defined on the weapon entry, not the ammo entry. But the only way to be sure is to try and see what happens.
