Really Enjoying... But
« on: June 04, 2015, 06:09:16 pm »
 Hi guys
I just registered and have to say I am very glad to have found openxcom. The game is very stable and I havent had any problems playing except for one.
I remember the difficulty level was bugged on the the original UFO and I was wondering if it had been addressed on openxcom because I am currently playing on superhuman and am at november 2000 and have 8 fully equipped bases and all tech researched and have destroyed all alien bases. The problem is that the aliens never attack me even though I have the aggressive response activated and thus I am not being put under any pressure. Also the aliens dont seem to be building any new bases (I destroyed up to base 7) even though they have lots of ufos flying about.
 Any help appreciated
  Many Thanks

The difficulty was touched on, as far as i know is also dependent on your role on the game, if you are taking down every ship then is hard for the aliens to do anything :P you are just too good :) but i have played in super human, and i had always had bases pop ever every so often.
Maybe do a test run and let some UFOs do their business and see how that works :).

1/ yes, difficulty bug is fixed

2/ if you are playing without mods, you should finish the game somewhere between June 1999 and December 1999... anything else is "prolonging the pain"

3/ if you shoot down UFOs regularly and don't have 4+ mind shields in each base, you should be seeing quite a lot of alien retaliation (base attacks) by now... if you are not try posting a saved game and your config file so that we can have a look...
