Crash in Cydonia
« on: March 31, 2015, 12:26:42 am »
I was wanting to check out if u brought extra grenades etc and left them aboard the Avenger wud they be available @ the start of the 2nd stage but on using debug mode to speed thru stage 1 the game crashes to the desktop with this error message: "Map failed to fully generate." Below is the log file and attached is the .sav file with options.cfg file. I'm just not quite ready for the final mission yet but this error is somewhat unsettling for a campaign I've been playing since 19th Feb. Can anyone advise?

one of the mods you're using, without doubt. vanilla generation works fine, as does the psx script. i'd suspect the expanded ubase mod, as cydonia stage 2 uses the same map blocks, and the script is most likely incompatible with it.

Thanks Warboy, knocking off the expanded ubase mod lets stage 2 start but back to my original reason for this tweaking. I left a blaster pack & he on the floor but they're gone @ the start of stage 2. Is there no way round this as even tho with the stats and armor my troops r wearing they're virtually maxed out weight wise not to mention space as to where to put stuff? Or is it the case that u just have to ration ur stuff during the 1st stage? Should I post Luke83 a message regarding this as I like the way his mod alters alien bases?

Its rather traditional in these multi-stage missions to bring only the equipment that you are carrying to the next stage.  That is why bringing extra ammo and cross leveling in between stages is important.  Its the same for Cydonia, and all TftD multi-stage missions.  We just don't drag the ground with us, when we are boogying to the next stage checkpoint. ;)

I just guess my troops shud be a little bit less "explosive & trigger" happy then.
