Also thanks for posting, still trying to figure out this map editing stuff myself, but this looks great!

I also made several variants of Cyberdiscs some time ago, I guess it's a good place to drop them if anyone wants them. They were made with Falko's online palette converter.



EDIT: Sorry, I forgot to add that the green one was made by Civilian, not me!

Hi Solarius! Would it be possible for you to release a file for the "metallic blue" cyberdiscas shown by the images uploaded in the previous posts by Robin? I think they would be perfect for and "Advanced Cyberdisc" for a late game "Improved Sectoid" or the already modded Mechtoid race... Thanks!

1) Why are you asking me for stuff that Robin made?
2) Robin has not posted in this thread at all.
3) If by any chance you mean something posted by myself in this thread, everything was already attached in the zip file.

Sorry, I was refering to the first cyberdisc variant posted by New Civilian... He uploaded his stuff in another file format than you had, and I don't know how to use those files posted by New Civilian for modding, but the one you did, yes... So I was simply asking if it was possible to make a file similar to the ones you posted but using the colors used by New Civilian. May be you are using some tool to make those files that I don't know.

And, no, I  wasn't drunk, just confused the names, and may be I was not clear enough while redacting my message, bear in mind that I am not a native English speaker. My apologies If I bothered you.

Ah, all right.

I could play around with the colours, but frankly I'm not good enough to make just every possible combination with Falko's editor - I'd have to do it by hand, which is extensive work.

Civilian just uploaded a PCK instead of png. He must be an old fashioned dude ;)

You can easily use Falko's tools (Specifically, the "XCom Converter": https://falkooxc2.pythonanywhere.com/spriteconvert#) to convert between the two. The Palette converter is also awesome to get units/weapons of different colours.

I have attached the sprite sheet I got out of it.

Correct! No fiddling around with 200 sprites if I can pack it into 1 small file that does not even need an entry in extraSprites, only an entry of the PCK's name in the armor. Done.  :)


Some more icons and stuff

The smokebox icon.... well I used it for an elerium-powered smoke launcher in my personal mod combo, but maybe someone has a better place for it...

About the others: I made those as I did not like the default huge sizes of certain objects...  :)

Ok some more aliens.

First is a Micronoid (see X-Com Apocalypse for the background), which is just a recoloured Silacoid tbh.

And second a Martian/Sectoid hybrid, basically a sligthly edited Sectoid with the eyes of the martians form the 50`s movie version of War of the Worlds. It looks really good ingame and I am quite satisfied with it.

no ufopedia pic yet, sorry, only an inventory screen atm
