[Linux] New location for original UFOs data files
« on: July 07, 2014, 01:18:14 pm »
Hello there  :)

Personally, I think it would be very straightforward if the game'd look - as first choiche - directly into an hidden folder in the user for example :

Code: [Select]
/home/username/.openxcom,

That, of course, aside from the usual paths already poresent in the game, so linux players may put there the original game data files in there, plus mods and ruleset files. Aldo, the config file should be placed thare.  8) Hope I made myself clear.. :-[

Probably this may be achievable with some configuration tampering (i don't kno how to do it xD ), but would be nice if that feature may be "hardcoded". Any chances for the next version?

On my Debian-like installation there is already this path:
$HOME/.local/share/openxcom/

And config is I think in $HOME/.config/ (typing from head now).

Do you have those or not?
