Failed mind control could reduce Bravery or something. Something that reflects the PTSD nature of entering an entirely foreign beings' murder machine brain.

Sounds interesting. I do agree that mind-control is very overpowered so some drawback may balance it. Maybe this can be tested as a mod ...

In Bard's Tale III the C64 version you could summon a strong monster / demon and you had to continuously exert your mind to control the thing.

In every turn it had the chance to break free, attack you, go berserk. Then you had the possibility to cast a CALM spell, so the monster was yours again.

Mind controlled Alien should have a chance to break free every turn and an equal chance to go berserk every turn if broken free.

I think about this rules (new advanced option):
- if soldier uses his psi-abilities, each attempt of MC or panic, leads to decrease psi-strength of soldier by 5 points.
- psi-strength will restored only after battle.

This sounds quite hard again. Should psi-strength not refill like Energy with a small rate ?

I quite like the idea of it decreasing strength without refilling until end of battle, would balance psi-weapons much more, great idea redv.

Impossible. Only cool beer and hot girl can refill psi-energy;)
