What am I missing?

I'm attaching my latest save file. I'm new to XPiratez but I've gotten to a point where I have nothing else to research. I already built the Luxury Spa next to the Red Mage's Tower to advance that part of the story but now I'm at a point where I'm not getting new missions and not finding anything to research. Can anyone suggest what I should try? Maybe I failed to build a builing I need?

The short answer is that you are missing Higher Studies.

Higher Studies has a long list of dependencies including "Improved Transporter" "Implosion Bomb Launcher". My next goal should be to focus on getting those two researched and it should unlock Higher Studies?

Damn that's the most fed lokknaar I've ever seen in my life 730 kills holy shit how come she hasn't been vaporised yet (even in a tank)
Implo bomb launcher is a common bottleneck, it's a bomber weapon and they never land and seeing you only have one proper interceptor i'd bet you haven't downed many, if any.
And yes, when a downed ships engines explode it destroys items on its tile so if you're unlucky you can down a few bombers and don't get any parts. I had a run just like that once, I knew what was the bottleneck but the bombers just refused to spawn and after I downed like four and didn't get a single part I ragequit that save.

Improved Transporter, like many of the better craft, requires the research tech for several enemy craft. Sometimes you can get the craft documentation from shooting it down and attacking it. You can get most from interrogating air sailors and engineers.

I've had two games now where I get a picture of Gudren saying something along the lines of "You've reached the end of the content, but there's more to explore". I haven't reached an ending though. Is that screen telling me I reached a dead end?
