The X-Com Files / Atlantis Temple

The wiki suggests that there's a mission after the Tasoth factory where you have to investigate the so-called "Atlantis Temple" following the research of the same name, but the code suggests it's been removed or commented out. If that was the case, why keep the research relating to it and leave a plot thread unresolved? Just curious, that's all.

The X-Com Files / E-115 weapon ideas

I had a couple ideas for weapons that could use the E-115 damage type, since I figured that as long as it was in the game it should be used for something. Of course I'm assuming there's going to be the pistol/rifle equivalents as usual, so these could make it a bit more flavorful.

  • Repurpose the existing Elerium-based explosives (e.g. Elerium Missiles, Elerium Explosives, etc.). It'll be faster than developing something which would need new sprites, handobs, etc., and it just doesn't make sense that they would cause plasma damage when they don't use any actual plasma in their design. As far as I know anyway.
  • Something like Halo's Fuel Rod Gun, which would basically launch big chunks of explosive elerium similar to the Plasma Destroyer's projectiles.

The X-Com Files / Question regarding enemy deployment

Despite being in July 1998 and having researched Zombie Evolution Hypothesis, I've yet to see a single Infector and want to know when I can expect to find one. Is there anything within my save file that would specifically indicate whether or not one of them will appear on a zombie infestation mission?

The X-Com Files / The Ghost Ship

I got this long before I had access to lasers or anything even remotely effective against ghosts, and due to the sheer size of the map I've gone over 60+ turns without being able to clear it due to one cultist or ghost JUST! NOT! SHOWING! UP! Short of hoping the mission reappears when I can send a larger squad with more weapons and more sanity, is there a way to clear it more easily?  And at that matter is the Hadriex Gun even worth the hassle?

I feel it wouldn't be half as problematic if only the map itself were about half the size it is now. There's simply no way to scour the whole 7-layer map with only 5 agents (the best I have access to now- the mission is out of helicopter range although I can't imagine having a 6th agent would help much).
