OG artwork made for space marines mod. it was made back in 2015 in mspaint, just for lols, thought i would share this here. Bulletdesigner and oharstein have done amazing work continuing the mod wich was just a example mod ages ago. keep up the good work fellas!

Oww my head, but this..  as a optional feature to choose from the ocx modlist , not making into xcom as permanent, that would be awful idea lol.

Im sure majority of people wouldnt like this feature ,but just for the ppl who look more challenge. Good to know that its possible to make, i wonder how the gamespeed would mess the timer then, hmm...

so basically you could create a bot that hovers your mouse cursor forcefully into "turn end" button after 2 minutes ,even if you struggle fighting against it with mouse movement, it would push the button lol :D

Hello for long time, idk if this correct forum section to ask this, but is there a way to mod some sort of turn timer into openxcom?

I think these kind of timers would be fun to add into openxcom, since it brings lots of pressure to player to operate in the mission as fast as possible, and what that causes... mistakes. lots of mistakes.
For now ,we have infitive time to plan how we execute our plans in the missions, but with the timer, it would be "funnier" when we execute plans hastly, like in "real situations", nothing is really planned forward. And it brings some movemntum into missions, like someone tapping on your shoulder and saying "keep moving, keep moving" ...

Orginally this idea came from space hulk boardgame, where you have 2 minutes to make your decisions as marine player ,in your turn. And it is lots of fun, specially when you have bigger forces, you must think faster the outcome.

To be more "extra" , the higher ranked units could bring more time to the timer, lets say some one is the captain rank, it brings 30 seconds more to the timer (if the orginal timer is 2 minutes, then it would be 2:30) ... altough thinking further, this would make game easier, and exploit the captain class to stay further from the front.... but if he/she gets killed the timer goes back to 2 minutes per turn.

So yeah, just asking if this could be possible in openxcom, i think you get the idea what i was suggesting, even trough my horrible english lol. cheers mates! ... also quick horrid image edit how it look maybe ingame :p

yaay i was lazy!... but here, have a bit more menacing "endturn" screen than spays marine.

installation folder is X:\Users\*YOURNAME*\Documents\OpenXcom\mods\40k\Resources\Backgrounds

ill try to find the orginal artist who made this image, i only edited it suitable for xcom palette n such and some shadowing n lighting..and made some minor pixel corrections and so on..... dang theres like thousands of fan art of chaos.... i prolly have the link for the orginal artist in browser history somewhere..

reee-ally small update... i plan to release arbites later on next week, inculding:

2x dolls (male/female)
battlesprites
weapons (3-4)

Usually i have very limited time to make graphics (basically half day from whole week) .. but now im on 9 days vacation, so lets see if i can finish what i started mainly :3 (if i dont get distracted)

PS: i friggin hate makeing human anatomy in pixels :P

not bad, but how do you make it as battlesprite? :D ... edit: maybe i could use sectoid as a base and draw to that... prolly would look hilarious when its holding a gun, whole upper torso filled with weapon sprite :3 ....

Any-hoo, small update again in doll spirtes. Maybe ill make a female version too and stop making those arbi..*cough*.. Also added the "motivational batong"

edit: 2 .... additional doll uprages and a guy "oh  my emperor i lost my library card and now im senteced to penal legiion oh gawd!" guy.

+ ratlings in progress too... maybe someday as a hired guys.

So the fifth male doll... what it should be like ... lets take a vote maybe? basically rest of the 5 wemmins will be the opposite sprites of these dolls. (eg. mutant male will be a fugly mutant hag and so on) .... so ideas for for dolls are.

1. OH GOD IM GONNA DIE, PLS SAVE ME EMPEROR doll ... (basically a sprite doll in on its knees laying in ground, making "platoon" movie pose, hands raised to heavens and praising for forgiveness) (weakling type)
2.  Ork imposter ega Digganob doll ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y29aGTbg62A ) (weakling subhuman, painted in green)
3.  Psyker doll (pff)
4.  furry. (well... look at some of it in wiki).
5. Your choise?

oh gawd... more i look into this lore, it get complicated.. i mean by kamikaze units @ old rogue trader.

Slight nit'pic to ork dolls.. Overall great work! thats a lot of work you have done. ork anatomy resemble more of a ape like creature than human (ea muscular,longer hands, smaller head, thicc jaw, smaller legs). image is a poor 10 minute quick edit, sorry for that. but great work overalll, you must be busy wih everything else ..

Since terror missions takes place at the cities, is it possible to have ACTUALLY have city like sprites/landscape. Everyone who has fought in new york seems like faraway downtown land. Questíon (since i dont know nothing about map making) how limited you are to have sprites in one sheet? or are they limitless,like you can have 100+ sprites in one sheet to build a city? just asking before i continue do anything, and notice afterwards that it was all just waste.

second question. is it possible to have "regional" cities to be diffrend counties... like china being chinese architecture, euro be europian archtecture etc etc...

iv just been thinking that theres loads and loads of weapons,ships,armor mods, balancing, new ufos,but no really anykind of "newish" terrain mods.. new aliens would be awesome too :>
