A bond between soldiers, like in Firaxis's Xcom 2. Two soldiers become friends, and get their stats boosted (probably in form of comendation). Possibly even several types of bonds - simple friendship, friends with benefits, lovers, married. If one of the agents die, the other gets a malus to stats (probably just temporal).

Other type of bonds - 'Dislike' and 'Hatred'. If these guys on the same base they get malus to stats.

Whaddaya think?

Yes, I meant only bases. Building Xcom bases on vicinity of the North Pole. Or finding alien base there.

Coz there are no solid land there, only two meters thick ice and even it is constantly moving, crushing, thawing, etc. And And since global warming, it can completely dissapear in 2060s.

As title says, it's impossible to build permanent structures on floating ice. I'm not saying forbid all, there's a islands in the Arctic that could host bases.

Players and Aliens should not be able to build bases on ice. It's immersion breaking.

Than you for sharing this.  I am looking for a good mod to play-through and to have even better experience than with XCF.

Could you please suggest which mods have all of the following?
  • Highly devious, smart, and sneaky, extremely evil AI.
  • Advanced intermediate crafts like Thunderstorm fro XCF.
  • Advanced armors like Shock Armor and Juggernaut Armor from XCF.
  • Ideally both land and oceanic bases.
  • Sophisticated, well developed story in which both cyborg and psi lines are included.
  • Tactically, have shields available that work on top of armor (like e.g. Ethereal's Grand Master in XCF).
  • Large tactical maps.


Dude, you asking like there's a choice from tens maybe hundreds of big mods for OXCE.  ;D

The truth is, there's only like 5 or 6 mods that suit your requirements: XCF, FMP, Xpiratez, Warhammer stuff, World of terrifying silence, Reaver's mod and UNEXCOM. And some them are unfinished or abandoned.

Do not listen to him, the best mod is (without any doubt) "XCOM-Files".

It's like the original and second game combined and with added new enemies and events. Without sillines and tits of XPirates.

It's the ultimate Xcom experience. The pinnacle of Xcom legacy.

If that something is about STR_SECTOPOD_ARMOR2, go into the resound mod's armors_XCOMFILES.rul and delete this block:

This mod doesn't work form me (XCF 2.7, Linux), during loading it says something about conflict and armor, then crashes to desktop.

Before the battle, one must choose a weapon, and different maps require a different weapons. So, it would help, if before the battle and weapon selection, player knew the type of map. Like, "Map: Urban" or "Map: Desert".

Honestly, I have no idea what's so bad taste about these two pics. Senior is a little cheeky (no pun intended), but I feel within the parameters. As for the other one, I'm a little lost - how is it different from the other ones?

Everyone has different tastes, of course, I just feel these are okay.

Last category.

The thing is, they are not serious, but silly and childish, like made by 12 year old who's going through anime and porn obsession phase. This art would look normal in XPirates, but in Xcom-files which is much serious mod, they create a dissonance.

Now, this is not an entirely new complaint and the other Helmet_Hair had a little submod to alleviate some of the issues. I've been using some of those images for a long while now, to the point that they're the 'default' for me and vanilla versions look strange.
