XPiratez / Re: ?Peasants are Superior?: A stupid playthrough
« on: February 07, 2021, 07:53:57 am »
I always play like this too. No black market ubers' recruiting, no slave soldiers, but many peasant girls. Last time I managed to lost all starting ubers, aircraft and ammunition failing the very first nurse mission so it was a bit more challenging in beginning.

Peasant girls lack some basic outfits so I've already added sailor and maid uniforms for them and going to add furs outfit for cold environment missions, sometime after next patch or update.

You adding this as a mod or intention is to include in XPiratez mod?

Sailor and Maid outfits now available for download as a sub-mod for XPiratez. Previous posts updated correspondingly.

But the 2601 is a pretty oligarchic/anarchic world, so most individuals follow their common sense? Pirate clothes are not meant for fun i think...but whatever... :)

I'm not sure already. Maybe those altars boys screaming and firing at blank are just overjoyed to see hot pirate girls. Kids like pirates you know.

Pirates may be more "get to the point", but in the 27th century, noone wears 18th century pirate clothing before your gals escape, not even the real pirates. Everyone knows real pirates (necropirates) wear all black, yes? People are more likely to laugh at colourful clothing than be terrified by it.
So why, after the gals escape, should such clothing suddenly be universally recognized as something dangerous? It wouldn't, unless the gals themselves promote it as such, yes? BUT. There are six gals, and a whole planet.

Likely more than just six gals raiding one temple after another and got famous for this.

Probably because pirates stile is both known and used in this world.

Said necropirates could not have centralized mass production supply of uniform and it's nothing like they do use same outfit or same color. Necropirates appears like pirates, having the same idea here as our gals. This is all what bootypedia says. I hope your understand that despite of in-game visual appearance characters are not supposed to be copies of each others.

Btw, who are these "corsair" guys? They definitely share exactly same style of clothing as our pirate team.
Are they friendly to Major Factions and The Church of Sirius in particular?

"Black jackets" is in-game visualisation of sturdy casual clothing worn by travelling ubers all over the world.

And I really have no idea what "bomb" was mentioned above. Bearded guy just playing with a toy ball, that is all.

Oh, c'mon, just a mob of 2-meters mutant pirates disguised as pirates wearing colorful pirate clothing designed and used by pirates to be distinguished as pirates in a world where pirates are real, raiding temples and wearing piratish-stile clothes, how can something go wrong?

Why? It's civilian clothing. Anyone can dress up as a pirate (as opposed to wearing military-grade armor) so the sight shouldn't be particularly alarming.
If an uber gal by herself does not cause any alarm, a bit of colourful clothing on top won't change that, IMHO.

It's civilian clothing. Anyone can dress as an arab so the sight shouldn't be particularly alarming.
If middle-eastern dude himself does not cause any alarm plain white robe won't change that... oh, wait!

(And some Casper-cosplaying purebloods may never make mutants feel uneasy, never!)

Bad, bad lore  ;D
Of course I can make my own but it will not be XPiratez, so... nah.

For gaming experience it could be:
  • useful to get few free brainers early (for some speed-up and less money-grinding);
  • more fun to receive a key human resource as a valuable trophy (not just by a single costly click);
  • good to see your perfomance rewarded with means to get more fun with new stuff;
  • more options for bounty and tokens system (you need to do something with surplus brainers sooner or later anyway).

Not sure if it worth to worry about balance too much, even it was existing. I mean, I see efforts, but so far my game experience tends to be like: "easy, easy, boring, easy, easy, GET SOME HAMMER TO YOUR FACE, start over". I definitely don't want to say that loosing is not fun, rather opposite, it brings quite unique experience. But to ballance a system with so much stuff and variety seems not really possible and maybe even necessary. So the main idea here is to bring more fun and variety.

Brainers are lab-raised valuable slaves, by the word of the god. Thus I consider legit for them to join you for free and by free will, depending on your recent mounthly infamy rating, after escaping from their legal owners, to get picked up by rescue team, or being freed from one of think tanks or other facility where they kept in or exploited. Later brainers could be acquired or redeemed via bounty and tokens system, when required conditions will be reached. Current system where one of the most valuable, exclusively raised hi-tech slavestock could be "bought" by a flock of dressed-up lunatics anytime and freely like a pile of tribal rags seems not fully legit by lore.

I suppose brainers to join you without necessity of being processed by small-minded runts. Same as free brainers can not slow down a player progress while being thrown in timely. For the god's sake, how free resurce throwing could not be dedicated to manage progress and balance?

I'm fairly certain that castaways can be recruited as brainers.  Though it could be interesting if early on the only way to recruit them was through missions, it would seriously slow down the early game, which would need rebalancing a lot of things.

Actually castaways cannot be recruited as brainers in early game since you don't have necessary techs. Later you do but barely need since brainers can be just purchased while lunatics not.

I don't think that option to get brainers for free may slowdown an early game or makes balancing more difficult, rather opposite.

Any ideas on mission variety?

Would be nice to rescue brainers in a same way as castaway gals. Сould be runaway brainer willing to join your ranks for example.
Personally I would prefer this more than just buying brainers like common supply from the very start of the game.
