I never go Little Bird. It takes a lot of research and the earliest you can have it is march. It seems like a lot of wasted effort for a craft that lets you do so little. Very small range. The only things you can shoot down are courier, other helicopters and if you are super lucky a plane. But those things are chance based. You might end up doing all that effort and not even use it.
So, i was thinking, what would be good enough as a reward early on to pursue Little bird, and I came up with one answer to that question. A "Fan".The only way to get that item which is needed for Large quarters is doing a "Help lock'nar" mission involving ninjas. But those became quite rare thanks to all Nar'locks equivalents. So, what if we made a "Fan" to be a guarantied drop in downed courier mission? This and guarantied courier in April would be enough for me to rush Little Bird, because Large quarters is a critical component of your starting base.
What do you think?

There is a craft, Piranha (or maybe it was Shark) jet bike I think. It has ridiculous speed and dodging. Takes only one LT tho. Takes some Jack tokens to obtain.

Edit: also you can't produce one (only buy), so no "m" tech.
Depends on what you consider "start of the game".
You get cattle prod research when you research "contact smugglers". And that is more or less 6 months into the game.
So, you might be thinking about stun baton.

Search your special project tab in manufacture for something unfamiliar. Anomaly should stabilize next month from activating it. Definitely not 6 months.

I guess the ol SS/Peaseant garrisons just don't cut it anymore
I have a precise answer now. It's BOSS rank that triggers it. You need "Family ties" to end those raids.

Those raids were added in this version as a way to spice things up a bit. They can happen in any base. When I played on John Silver first raid happened in January 2602. I was constantly raided every single month since that.

No. I bet they are just on the edge. Even tho mission ends, game processes one last turn for the enemy.

This is a new playthrough using the N5 update, strangely enough I am, apparently, to able to unlock standard decentcraft like shadowbat, worm, fortuna, and so on, It is a fresh play so no save porting. Could you help me find out what I'm missing, because it's the second year, I've got gnomes, nekomimis, orbital missions, and many bounties...seems a little strange.
Here is the savegame if someone can help me out. I'm also playtesting a mod I'm currently developing for an Oni race so maybe some ID conflict may be the culprit?

There is no save of this. I just edited the needed item in, because I just assumed that something happened that should not have.

I have no idea if this is a bug or some recent change. I'm in second year January and i did not have a single Academy ambulance appear. No base raid, nothing to shoot down, so being one year in to campaign I still do not have "hideout search orders". Do I really just have a bad luck, or is there condition i have to meet?

If I remember correctly Ninja medics use red shields.

The most focused attacks cause the harshest reprisal; Laser, Electricity and Stab cause only 25% damage. Piercing, Fire and Concussive are next in succession, dealing 50% damage. As the attacks grow 'softer' so reaction is less coherent and the energy loss is greater. Cutting, Plasma, Chem, Bio and Daze dish out full damage. EMP is the bane of these shields, draining their energy fast with 250% damage multiplier. Mind and Warp attacks are too sneaky to be noticed and they go right through.
