Hello,
 I was just thinking it would be nice is there where also Enemy Humans to fight .  They could be of countries that have sided with the aliens or even major Gangs like in Apocalypse. They could have bases on earth like the aliens do, have alien enhanced versions of human weapons as well as Raid our bases just like the aliens do. This also opens up more chances for revenue , weapons and research for interested players. You could even have these factions lead ( on earth) by human/sectoid hybrids ( to keep with the x-com theme ).

Also i think Civilians on the game should do more than just walk around opening doors and becoming targets  for aliens. If we are there to save them from being slayed or made into Zombies we should be able to issue them simply orders like "Follow me" and "Stay". Also some should have pistols and such even if they only shoot x-com agents as there freaking out. Lets face it , if the aliens attacked a country like the USA someone must  be a Gun nut :)

Suggestions / Instant Battle Option

Just before i forget , i think there should be a instant battle option where you can select between the mission types and fight a random assortment of aliens breeds ( OR humans ).

 Sometimes as a father i don't have time to do the entire strategy thing i just need to get my bottom kicked a few times by those cheating alien scum :)

Hello,
 Exactly how are maps generated in X-com. Is there a pre-existing list of buildings that just gets placed in different locations to define a map?  Is this something that can be extracted from the original game so people could try to make MORE different types?

Please forgive my ignorance as im new to open source and modding in general but this project really excites me  :o

Suggestions / Thoughts for making the game challenging for longer

Hello,
 Really looking forward to seeing a stable complete remake of x-com so then people can start thiking about MODS to increase its life span. To me part of the thrill of the X-com series was the unknown , What weapons would you get to research next , what race of aliens where going to show them selves next and what New ways to slaughter my men would they find. However after many, many years of playing this series i find myself doing the same things every time.

 It would be Nice if at the start of a new game ( playing a modded version) That the game would Randomly select what aliens you where going to come up against , Randomly select the Skill levels and special talents they would have ( for example in one game maybe the Floaters would be the strongest most elite troops and the Mutons may be the weakest).
 Also the weapons they use should be random so it may not be possible to research every weapon type . Just image not being able to research  laser weapons and having to rely on conventional weapons in some games.
 Of course to have this occur you would have to create New aliens ,New craft designs, New technology and New Human weapons to allow it to be RANDOM and i know this would be a Hell of a lot of work but its just something i have been thinking about lately.
First things first lets get the Remake made , its times like this, i wish i had some skill to share on a project. Testing is about all i can really do :(
