Attention, this is MPTV with the latest news updates!

X-COM forces had once again raided the Temple of the Apocalyspe, according to eyewitnesses earlier today, as the defenders were massacred in what was (mostly) a one-sided battle between Cultist forces and X-COM agents. The Cult of Sirius' High Priest for the MegaPrimus chapter of the Cult has called X-COM's recent raids as "a deliberate act to destroy not only our alien friends, but their followers as well", claiming that X-COM is "the real enemy of humanity" and not the aliens. With this Cultist vs X-COM conflict spanning the whole city, local authorities are already considering the designation of the Cult of Sirius as a terrorist group.

In other news, Megapol has launched a retaliatory attack against Diablo after yesterday's attempt at the Law Control Station by the criminal organisation. With Chief Le Ron proclaiming that "Megapol will fight criminals wherever they are in our city", Megapol's efforts seemed to have intensified against the gangs, while X-COM has turned to combating the Cult of Sirius and the aliens. Stay tuned for further updates!

Well, at least I can just do these reports at the end of each day in the game. Hopefully, this will be a successful war for X-COM like the previous two conflicts. :P

Attention, this is MPTV with the latest news updates!

X-COM forces have reportedly raided the Temple of Apocalypse again, with relatively light losses on X-COM's side, and only one confirmed Cultist having reportedly survived. He told MPTV reporters that "it was a complete massacre" with the organisation's agents having reportedly killed most of his friends and associates at the time of the raid.

A few hours later, X-COM reportedly began investigations on both Sanctuary Clinic and Megapol, suspecting of having alien infiltrators embedded within both entities. The organisation's suspicions were confirmed when Enforcer Academy was investigated and several alien lifeforms were spotted inside the building. In the meantime, Megapol has closed the Academy until next week.

However, despite X-COM's recent successes against alien and cultist forces, alongside their cooperation with Megapol, Sanctuary Clinic and Lifetree have both expressed concerns regarding what has been deemed as "unwarranted investigations" into the former's activities in the aftermath of the investigation at the Phoenix Sanatorium yesterday. Despite these concerns, it does express that X-COM's investigations into the organisation may be "a necessary evil for our MegaPrimus operations".

In other news, a joint X-COM-Megapol operation against a raid by the Diablo gang has been successful in defending Law Control Station from the criminal network. However, Megapol chief François Le Ron has told MPTV reporters that the area around the station had reportedly taken "mild damage", and expressed gratitude to X-COM's support in their law enforcement efforts and has even been key in providing intelligence to X-COM agents in the fight against the aliens. Stay tuned for further updates!

So, new plan. At the end of each day in-game, I could always just have news reports by MPTV on the events that transpired throughout the day. Anyway, I hope this format is more consistent, considering my initial posts were not exactly consistent anyhow. :(

Copy that! The news won't be canon-breaking.

Fair enough, even though Interceptor and Enforcer both broke the canon. So.....

Attention, this is MPTV with the latest news updates!

X-COM forces have successfully cleared the Babylon Apartments earlier today, after an immediate and thorough investigation. With the city now a battlefield between alien forces, X-COM and various other factions within the city, the various megacorporations have expressed concerns regarding their businesses' safety within the city. The Director of Operations at X-COM's MegaPrimus Division has already recommended citizens to keep their eyes open for "unusual behaviours" as the aliens seem to have reported "brain sucked" two X-COM operatives during the investigation.

In other news, a UFO was recovered after a brief battle between X-COM and alien forces just several minutes ago by a passing Valkyrie interceptor. With X-COM being intent on determining the purpose and origin behind the aliens, much like the First and Second Alien Wars of the past, the organisation now appears to be in a race against time to save humanity. Stay tuned for further updates!

Well, first engagements in the city and there are already reports of alien activity. Great....... Oh well. Hopefully, we can stop them.

Attention, this is MPTV with the latest news updates!

X-COM forces have reportedly raided the Cult of Sirius' Temple of the Apocalypse earlier today as part of the ongoing conflict against the Cultists ever since the mysterious object first appeared over the city. With the Senate already in the middle of an election year, and reports of alien activity taking place all over the city, X-COM is now under pressure to respond to the alien threat, with MegaPol's resources beings stretched thin across the city.

In other news, a MegaPol police vehicle has reportedly crashed with a civilian vehicle by accident near X-COM's base in the city. With the information having just reached our studios here at MPTV, we are still attempting to learn more as this situation unfolds. Stay tuned for further updates!

NOTE: This is the GNN X-COM Apocalypse playthrough. Sorry if it does not look like it, but I realised that GNN is probably either gone by this point or busy with other news stories. So, MegaPrimus TV will have to do for the moment. Sorry, gentlemen. :(

Because, in canon, the next step in the war is the Interlude, when humanity reached The Frontier. Then, XCOM: Interceptor.

I think Earth is very capable of reaching the stars now that we have waged two Alien Wars. I'm thinking about colonizing Mars, Ceres, Europa, Titan and Miranda.

Just try to remain consistent in the way the main X-COM timeline pre-Interceptor broke it. Alright?

Are you going to stick to canon? Or maybe are you going to try something different?

The Frontier War is something interesting, we can write something set in space!

Solar System must be colonized.

50/50, sort of. Why?

Bravo! Humanity stands together once more again.

What's next? Apocalypse? Maybe you should try From The Apocalypse mod, by robin!

X-COM: Apocalypse? Already on it. By the way, question: what should happen post-War this time prior to X-COM: Apocalypse?

Attention, this is GNN with some breaking news!

X-COM has reportedly destroyed a newly rebuilt alien colony in the Java Sea, with a new flying submarine model that former SORESO head F. Denmann Williams has nicknamed "the Leviathan". X-COM forces once again took significant losses, but were able to successfully capture an alien commander according to Williams. Comittee Chairman Juan Gonzalez has already announced that X-COM may be nearing a breakthrough soon.

In other news, President Mead and Premier McNorth have recently begun steps to reintegrate Alaska into the US, especially in light of the increased frequency of joint patrols in the Pacific coast of North America. Analysts believe that this could be the first step in bringing peace to the Arctic, in the event the Second Alien War ends in victory for X-COM once again. Stay tuned for further updates!

Satellite data has just started to come in and it appears that the particles from the explosion along with toxic gasses released from the alien city's destruction are spreading across the globe. Attention, this is GNN with some breaking news!

**X-COM Commander:** Representatives of the Committee, citizens of Earth. I stand before you, not as the Commander of X-COM Project, not as a military officer, but as a citizen of all mankind. With blood, sweat and tears, humanity has once again emerged victorious. Of course, with the rapidly deteriorating situation in the Gulf, one would ask "at what cost?". No one said victory would be easy. There were many hardships, many losses and now, many families have lost not only their lives, but of those who still have them, they have lost their very lifestyles. For that, it is time to announce that the X-COM force sent to attack the alien city known as T'Leth....despite their success in achieving victory for humanity....may not live to see the world after.

**Director Williams (ret.):** As the Commander mentioned, the X-COM force that destroyed T'Leth, will sadly never see the world they helped create. Well, if you could even call it as such. As such, to the families of those brave soldiers, who gave their lives, so that mankind could live on, we share your grievances, and...now.....for a moment of silence for those who gave their lives, so that we could live on.

*the broadcast continues for two minutes as the Commander, former Director Williams, the Committee representatives, the reporters, news anchor and the viewers remain silent*

**X-COM Commander:** As the situation unfolds, it has become very clear that the world, despite being relatively safe once more, the need for X-COM remains. As the world changes and mankind, from this day, attempts to spread beyond our Solar System, we must protect humanity at all costs. Aliens will not rest, and neither will we. Perhaps you, the representatives of this Committee of Funding Organisations, may think of more pressing concerns like the one unfolding at this time. However, that same mistake is must not be repeated. We need the world on our side, and the world needs X-COM, for without it, the sacrifice of two wars...will have been for nothing. Thank you and good night.

*the broadcast ends*

________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

X-COM has won. At great cost. Earth's environment lies in ruins, and the world is forever scarred by the Second Alien War. Humanity begins its expansion into the Frontier, but even at home, there are always threats, lurking and waiting. Aliens never sleep and neither does X-COM.

Vigilo Confido

Attention, this is GNN with some breaking news!

X-COM forces have managed to successfully evacuate the surviving personnel of the New Anchorage earlier today, with the state-owned Alaskan Petroleum and Gas Corporation (APGAC) and Alaskan Premier John McNorth having told Alaskan state owned media that "X-COM has once again proven that it can defend our world's ships, cities, and citizens once again" and that "the people of Alaska owe their gratitude towards those that protect our citizens". However, with the oceans becoming increasingly more dangerous, the APN has taken a more active approach in their anti-alien patrols and Premier McNorth has even begun talks with President Mead to conduct joint patrols in the Pacific.

In other news, a major offensive by Filipino insurgents was launched on the city of Manila earlier today, and other cities across the region. The insurgents, the Chinese National Defence Forces and their new Cult of Sirius allies have seen reports of what has been described as "brutal fighting" in Manila itself. Civilian casualties are expected to mount as the offensive continues. Stay tuned for further updates!

Well, gentlemen. Looks like X-COM is not out yet. We may have lost more members than we did in the previous conflict (and at a far more alarming rate), but we are now starting to catch up and regain the initiative. Hopefully, it remains that way. :P

Attention, this is GNN with some breaking news!

After heavy fighting between X-COM forces and alien troops in Miami, the US government has decided to temporarily shut down operations at the ports until the damage from the fighting is repaired. In what President Mead considered as a "successful defense", he has ordered the US military to go into DEFCON 2, after having been at DEFCON 3 for nearly a year. As a result, the US Navy has intensified its patrols in the Caribbean in collaboration with the New Mexican government.

In other news, the Korean Federation has just decided to move its forces into the South China Sea in support of the Neo-Japanese in an attempt to discourage Free China from "conducting rash actions" and "maintain the increasingly fragile peace" in the region. With tensions at a boiling point, analysts fear that the Second Alien War may be sidelined in favour of international conflicts similar in scale to the World Wars of the 20th Century. Stay tuned for further updates!

Attention, this is GNN with some breaking news!

X-COM forces have successfully managed to repel an alien attack on the city of Shanghai, with X-COM forces having taken "minimal losses" against the aliens. Authorities in the Federation of Korea have already locked down some of the city's ports until the damage is repaired, with President Ji Song El praising X-COM forces for "protecting Korea's citizens and others around the world wherever they go". Shanghai has already declared a state of emergency until the damage is cleared and due to the ports being locked down, ships approaching the city have been forced to turn back.

In other news, tensions between the Euro-Syndicate, Scandinavia and Eurasia have begun to reach a boiling point, with reports of border skirmishes already being received by our offices here at GNN. As a result, the European continent is appearing to become more and more likely to fall into chaos as war between the three nations is likely to erupt. Stay tuned for further updates!

Attention, this is GNN with some breaking news!

X-COM forces have recently managed to successfully destroy an alien artefact near the Falkland Islands earlier today, as the aliens continue to ravage Earth's oceans. The attack was likely a hit and run attack, given that no alien bodies or the like were ever recovered. However, the remaining Committee members has assured the public that X-COM will continue to fight the alien forces around the world.

In other news, Eurasian forces have begun a military buildup along the Euro-Syndicate and Scandinavian borders, alongside reports of Asian Coalition forces having threatened the Arabian Bloc and Egyptian Cartels earlier today. With recent military tensions beginning to flare up again, the geopolitical instability has become all too visible at this point. Stay tuned for further updates!
