Here is a simple mod I made that makes the characters in your x-com games have the names of MGS:V staff.


The list is based on the actual code names from the game.


UPDATE: There was a flaw in my old mod (osprey was bugged) but I fixed it and now the mod is better than ever. Sorry for the long reply!  :)

Help / Turning an friendly unit into an ai controlled one? Evil Doge??

I want to make an ENEMY AI version of the doge mod, I've got a version I made that runs and gives no errors but I can't see if it works. When I go into quick battle they don't show up under the alien races, I must be doing something wrong but can anyone tell me how difficult this would be to do? I've got other ideas based off the doge mod so if someone could help me that would be AWESOME!

One idea I have is https://www.realm667.com/index.php/en/beastiary-mainmenu-136/744-rottweiler converting these sprites. Someone ( Captain Toenail) already made a rottweiler using sprites from wolf 3d as a base(where the original doge sprites are from), so this would be a cool asset!

Help / Crafting items with.. items??

I'm thinking about making a mod with several versions of the standard rifle, each one is unlocked via research.
(standard, extended clip, scope, lazer scope, forward grip, larger caliber ammo)
is it possible to make a recipe that would use rifle as an item required for manufacturing?
(my idea is that you would be upgrading the rifle with the highest possible mods.)
where should I be looking to edit the data?

Help / changing the height of the gun for sectoid?

I've swapped out the sectoid sprites for a different sprite set (human in jungle uniform), The guns seem to still be sitting in the same spot they would for an sectoid though (low),
Is there a place to change this setting? I don't want to change the gun height for all characters, just the sectoid. I'm figuring it's a setting I missed, maybe you guys can help me!

Help / Replacing sectoids?

So far I've figured out how to change all the sectoid weapons to human weapons but how do I replace the sprites for the sectoids?
I want to replace the sprites with human sprites, just for fun. I'd need to replace the battlefield sprite and the corpse sprites as well.
Is there any total conversion mods that change all the basic stuff in the game I can look at for examples?
Any help would be appreciated thanks!

Edit: Ok I think I figured out how to add the the type of alien I want through a mod, but is there any good mods that replace vanilla stuff?
I'd like to see how they did it! Thanks again!

I am playing final mod and ive got a question:

I keep seeing stuff like /Br /mSct /m /bwm

example :

when i look at the loadout for my skyraider 1, this is what I see:

Pili Birir /bwm                                  Rookie                                                Skyraider 1



What does the /bwm mean? is that something or did I break the mod? lol

Help / How to add weapons to the store?

I'm playing final mod and I see there is an ak47, uzi and RPG launcher in common but I can't figure out how to add them to the store. I've added them to my starting base but they are blue and you can't buy more. How can I make these guys buyable (and preferably white on the buy screen)??

Help / replacing vanilla sprites

I want to replace the original uniforms in the game with ones I have drawn. They work when I'm using them as a mod but I have no idea how to change the default uniforms. i want to replace for both the inventory screens and the battle scenes! Thanks for any help!

Also How do I edit how default stuff looks in the inventory?  like the default rifle for example.

Like I said I've got mods to work but I want to change the vanilla stuff, is this possible?
