Finally replaced the link for the UI replacement mod

I mean backgrounds for popup windows, like mission briefing.
Oh! I drew the backgrounds in clip studio paint originally, then I shrunk them down and reduced the colour depth in PS. After that, I palettized it in Aseprite and selected from the second-to-last 16 colour indices in the lookup table to represent the brightnesses so the game could properly recolour them with BACKPALS.DAT.

Hi. What tool do you use to create backgrounds in one color?
What do you mean?

The orange shell casings make all the ammo look like incendiary, and they overwhelm the color markings on the tips.
I considered using a different colour for the cases, but a lot of real-life ammunition uses shiny brass cases and marked tips. That being said I tried some variations and I came to some that I liked:

I won't be changing the cases of the autocannon ammo... because the original is really hard to read and shows the wrong amount of cartridges on top of that anyway, so I don't want to get bogged down in details until most of the stuff is finished.

In speaking of bogging down and details, I'm going to be taking a break from working on mod stuff, so I've attached what I have so far of X-Cutes. I haven't changed sprites or battlescape tiles yet (at least, I don't have enough to incorporate and test), so if you're interested in taking a look and playing around with it—have fun!

Alright folks, here's the progress on the cutification:

All the ammo for human weapons is just about done, and as for weapons there's the Heavy Cannon and Rocket Launcher left. I'm working on battlescape tileset changes too, but I do want to release a preview version of the mod before going and doing all the in-depth replacements to cap it off.

Progress on the Cutified mod:

The art here is my own artwork, pared-down and re-indexed for use in the game.

I also made different paperdoll graphics just for this, but like with any other stuff—when I post it, feel free to make use of it

No problem! I'll do male paperdolls soon too, and some more weapons to go with it.

Hey all, Sup bothered me to work on art stuff to help modders with today, so I've made some Hand/Floor/Bigobs of some weapons to use in your mods at your leisure. Here's a list of the current complete stuff, with more on the way:

Spoiler Usage Terms:
Use them as you wish for your mods, games, etc. Credit isn't necessary but I'd appreciate it all the same!

X-Cutes fluff:

By the year 1998, the US government and NATO managed to perfect the long sought-after super soldier formula that would develop normal, trained individuals into finely tuned biological machines of extreme destructive capability. So capable in fact, that the XM411 auto-cannon and XM412 portable cannon were developed primarily to outfit these unusually strong and resilient troops. The kicker? Every operator administered the nutritional plan outlined by the super soldier program became more compact and cute as a result!

With the beginnings of an alien invasion on the horizon, the project was adapted into a worldwide supernational task force known as X-COM, though internal documentation refers to X-COM field personnel jokingly as X-Cutes or X-Cuties due to their smaller height and stouter dimensions (avg. 156cm height and an unusually heavy weight of 73kg on average). With a shortage of weapons to arm this new, compact little army of alien-busting cuties, the new commander of the X-COM project will have quite a task on their plate.
