I agree, and that's why you need to build defenses in you base. A few flak cannon, and hop, free fireworks above your base.
And if they manage to survive the first phase, you still have big turrets inside your base ! Blowing up your ennemies, theirs dogs, your turrets and sometimes yours gals !

Seriously, build defenses in every base, it's really help with those tedious missions. The fastest base mission is one that don't need to be done.

Shoot down every flying thing you can down, except civilian and govt ship (Or eat the malus for doing that).
Especially the ratmens (Very slow craft, but stay for a long time one the map).

Of course, you need an armed craft (Aircar, Daredevil, or even land craft like the convoy or the battle cab !) for that, a weapon AND ammo (Most likely, 14mm, but LMG or HMG work against ratmens). So you need to plan for that.
Don't forget brainers, cause they help you get new shinny weapons, and also give you score (And money).

Also, try to unlock missions as soon as possible. More missions = more opportunity for loot / score.

I've been using GitHub for years but I'm still not proficient in using it. Especially when it comes to things I've never done. These were the first two Pull-Requests I've gotten, so I didn't know what the proper way of doing it was.

I also thought I need to first merge it before I can try it out and then maybe report what I found.

You can checkout the branch of the pull request, that way you don't need to merge on master.
Github will tell you if the branch require a modification before merging.

And, I don't know if it is available on the public part of github, but you can propose a modification directly on github / add comments on the pull request.

A word of warning about tanks : Anything explosive will be either useless or really dangerous for your stuff in the third part.
Also, you can say hello to the princess with a tank. You need to 'remodel' her house a little for that.

I don't have upkeep problems. It just I have never enough money.
Between the plasma defenses, the high-level armors, the high-tech buildings, money disappears really fast.

XPZ Strategy/Tactics / About the first lunar mission with humanists

So I finally managed to finish the first humanist mission on the moon, and I wondered what kind of strategy peoples used for this mission ?

  • I tried to do it with carbon armors, got absolutely rekt by multiples hanabu / warp cannons.
  • Tried with a laser hovertank with low-tech ammo. Not enough power and it exploded as soon as the shield went down.
  • Tried with a gnomedisc with 2 rockets launcher (because of the purple shield / rockets), It was better until I discovered I couldn't reload the disc.
  • Say fuck it, waited until I had moloch armors, XEC Archer with emp ammo, Hologal Pad, nukes and Blaster Launcher.
The last try was the good one.
Launched a few hologals, slaughtered the hanabu with the XEC. Turn out hologals work really well as bait / ennemies indicator, and are nearly immune to plasma / warp damage.
Then, I exploded the surface buildings and anything that moved until I could access the subterranean part of the base, where moloch armors really shinned as tanks. (I had no experimented repentia gals, but a lot of experts catgirls working as support)

But the moloch armors are red codex exclusive. So it is not doable this way if you're not a red codex user. (And also, I probably destroyed a good part of the loot)

My question are, how did you managed to clear this map ? And when ?

I just got an outrageous event : (See Attachment)
And I must say : How dare they make me pay taxes ?

How can we call ourselves pirates if we pay taxes ?
How can I call myself a captain if I let such an affront unpunished ?
Especially when I'm short on money.
What the point of all those explosives sitting in the cave ?


Anyways, there is something wrong with this event. It's clearly the government stealing you, putting you in deep shit (I never have enough money, even after 45 months), and you can't do anything except suck it ? Why I can't make a 'friendly visit' to the taxman, and explain to him and his office why being too zealous at work is a bad idea for your health ?
Even if the price for such an action is a -5k points mission and a big stash of govt fine for every wall I destroyed.

Hey Xilmi,
In 5 years I haven't seen ANY blaster launchers shots from OXCE AI. All these guys with blaster launchers (mind-guided missiles) were just decorations to punch them and collect stuff. This solely is an advancement worth mentioning.
Bad the thing is: all mods are balanced around some enemy units being decoration instead of real competitive power.
Just in case.

Aliens (or in my case, Academy Pionners) DO use blaster launchers. I have been blasted today. But I think they use it like a rocket launcher, not like a GUIDED rocker launcher.

On the upper floor of the ennemy lab, just left of the elevator, a fake wall is present, with at least one zombie.
Try hitting walls with an axe. (And don't forget that you may need multiples hits).
There should be no hidden section on the cavern part of the map.

I sent a squad on a "Devil's reef" mission, including a ghost using the revamped vampy armor.
I ended with a naked gal (Nudist (SEA)) with a body, despite the briefing saying I could use the vampy armor.

C'mon, it's a easier version of the map, without the underground part or the tower and with a big armored room, and you can bring big explosives. Or a big tank with 85mm explosives shells.
Just make sure to NOT explode your stuff (Easier if it's not here. But it look like a bug)

The third part is a little more horrible if you're using assault armor, because these things suck freshness even when they don't fly, and you can't explode the map so you need to dive in the labyrinth to kill every dolls.

I don't remember losing stuff, so the most likely reason for that loss is : You stuff got blown by one of the big auto-cannon in the first mission.
That is the meanest part for me, when you realize that after the whole thing.

I'm raiding a science vessel on a "Academy propaganda" mission, and it's full of academy provosts. Like 10 of them, and not a single nurse.
Bug ? Hidden surprise ? Update I've missed ?
