I have a few more though:

Does the Xcom Psyclone use the agent's psychic value score for its chance of success or failure, or is it something independent of a "true" psychic amplification device?

I'm not sure if that's the case as I haven't been able to research psionics yet, although I found Witches using these Flame Gloves artifacts.

Lastly, is it intentional that upon reaching Promotion 2, Black Ops' weaponry becomes the standard for all of your agents? Besides its high price, I don't see why would you keep using other guns when most of the Black Ops catalog are more often than not superior.

Hello, I'm not sure if it counts as a bug, but the FAMAS rifle has a bit of an odd behavior regarding the Ufopaedia: I've been able to "research" it and acquire it for my soldiers, but it doesn't show its relevant article anywhere. Sometimes it does show up after getting Promotion 2 and "researching" similar weapons.

Another one which I believe it has been commented is that I'm given the option to investigate a "Zrbite tank"... Without having found said alien material ingame yet.

There's a few questions I have about this excellent mod: Why do Dogs Agents sometimes randomly lose Morale with no apparent reason? It's not explained anywhere, but I believe it happens when they're away from your other units and the gunfire starts. Perhaps they're scared of loud noises?

Another one: How long does an unit take to gain significant improvements while being trained at the Gym? Assuming you have the "train anytime" game mode activated.

Lastly, how long in RL hours can the average playthrough take? So far it seems it might take at least a few dozens hours, seeing that the game is somewhat slow-moving (depending on your difficulty level and which in-game year it is).


I would like to post another topic with my impressions while playing this mod after I saw Slaughter's LP, but I'll hold on that for later, if that's okay to do.

I have a few questions about this mod. First, how long in RL hours can the average playthrough take? So far it seems it might take at least a few dozens hours, seeing that the game is somewhat slow-moving (depending on your difficulty level and which in-game year it is).

Second, why is the standard music for the battlescape so BAD? It is really bad IMO, it tries to be creepy but quickly becomes annoying. It contrasts too much with the usually cheery music of the rest of the game.

So, how does exactly the new CQC mechanics work then? I was hoping for a new Ufopaedia entry but nothing so far. Also, a minor question I have: Does X-Com Files also have the save problem with updating saves between newer editions of the game, or could I theoretically play the latest version with an old savegame without issues? My latest save is from the immediately previous version, 0.6.3 I think, but the game is REALLY long enough and I would loathe having to start over again at some point in the future.

Greetings everyone! After thinking about it for a long time, I decided to register to ask my questions about awesome mods like Piratez and X-Com Files and be able to see their progress more directly.
