item arrangement? gosh, oh  no! xcom have "classic" item arrangement and everyone know where he should be looking for particular item. by arranging them you may get practical mess, specially with custom translations.

Oh yes. I haven't consider the arrangement issue for different language e.g. Chinese

For the East Asian Language, item arrangement is meaningless.

So, the things others have mentioned that I need to investigate are:

  • Pink ammo
  • Storage space delta on Purchase menu
  • Possibility of adding an 'On Order' column to Purchase menu

This will be another reason for people playing OpenXcom instead of X-Com or XCOM.

Is it possible to arrange the items alphabetically by pressing a button? This is useful when your item list becomes longer and longer.

 "Not enough equipment to fully re-equip squad" has to be the most useless notification in the game

The game should tell us which equipment is out of stock.

talking about dead projects, a link to UFO: Cydonia's Fall is still on openxcom.org's main page, although it's a dead link, it might be interesting to keep dead projects in that list, but with a Strikethrough effect ? :)

Maybe add caching? You can save a "map" of all "radared" and "non-radared" pixels and use that to draw the radars; this map could then update only when you build/destroy a base. As for crafts, I think that their radar could be just a 1-pixel colored circle. I think that that would simplify it a lot.

Although this is a feasible solution but not perfect. You will not see the actual position of the flying UFO.

Sorry for a bit off topic. It will be more reasonable if the game treat the unconscious/dead unit as two-hand weapon. When we put the two-hand weapon on one of the hand slot, the other hand should become grey and unusable.

Some two-hand weapon such as rifle can be used by one hand. However, the accuracy will decrwase. You can throw the dead unit using one hand but the throwing range and accuracy decrease i.e.  you can only throw the dead unit in front of you. :P

I have bad memory and I do not play Xcom everyday. I always forget there are items under transferring between bases. There are also items/staffs being purchased/employed (but not yet delivered/arrive).

As a result, I  purchase/ employ excess items/staffs.

So, I suggest to add a page in the game showing the item/staff under transfer between bases. Besides, newly purchased item and staff employed but not yet deliver can also be shown in this page.

As I remember there was already color diversity for items (ammo have had purple color). Concerning color choise, I wouln't suggest dark colors which are close to background (dark green color kinda close to dark yellow). And better not to alter item colors - better to alter header color.

I agree. I think alter header colour and different ammo colors are enough.

The sorting and tab down function of base inventory management will surely improve the gameplay.

I always think that the letters for weapon and ammo should use different colors.

I agree with adding the renaming function especially for the base name.  You may hit the enter button accidentally and making your base name blank.  :-\
