The expeditions are Ratmen looking for your base.  If they find it you get a simplified base invasion with low-level guns (though bloodhounds are still a threat).

My first two fights against Sectopods just used a massive amount of grenades.  It took about 12+ of a mix of hellerium grenades, Willie Petes, and high explosives but they eventually went down.  My recent fight I had my gal in Ghost armor run up and wreck them in 2-3 hits.  Apparently they have no resistance to Mind damage.

It is possible to break the stone walls.  I had a situation where the last two enemies were blocked off, so I used a max strength gal with a hammer to bust it open.  It took a while, since it sometimes took three tries to get a good damage roll and the walls had 'damaged' states before they were completely destroyed, but it is possible.

Does anyone know how to capture a live Strix zombie?  I tried the cattle prod but that made it explode.  I reloaded and tried a riot shield but that also left it dead.  It's possible the shield killed it, but I'm worried they may have the same "die on stun" behavior as cyberdiscs.  If that's the case, then I think the only other option is psi control.  Has anyone here caught one?

I noticed two text inconsistencies.  The Nude slave text still mentions special damage and the live Zombie Fatman article talks about extracting hellerium even though it no longer immediately unlocks zombie butchery.

Also, the Sunday Town Mission mentions only allowing "Mostly Harmless" weapons and has an outfit button, but it only removes my explosives (and flares) and the button shows no clothing for me yet but all the outfits I've tried are allowed.  Is this intended or just a sign of work in progress?

Edit:  I was looking through my topics when I saw the attached pages.  If I'm reading the color coding right, with purple for researched and pink for not, then I've managed to anger the Guild before alarming them.  Is this intended?

I remember occasionally getting gatling lasers from normal freighters.

This should set the small font back to the default Xcom.  The #'s are the important part.  I find it easier to read, but I think some of the characters are slightly larger so it might send a bit more off screen.

Find the file called "AmigaFont.dat", open it in a text editor, find the following code:

Code: [Select]
  - id: FONT_SMALL
    width: 8
    height: 9
    spacing: -1
    images:
      - file: FontSmallBloax.gif
#      - file: FontSmall.png
#      - file: AmigaFontSmallDio.png

and change the last 3 lines to this:

Code: [Select]
#      - file: FontSmallBloax.gif
      - file: FontSmall.png
#      - file: AmigaFontSmallDio.png

Thanks for the fix.  I'm interested to see what's in here.  By the way, it seems you forgot to remove the UFO folder assets when you uploaded.  There's also a second OXCE+ application included.

I downloaded it and there are still a few issues.  Several UFOpedia entries still crash.  I got crashes like the following when viewing aircraft weapons.  I first got it when I hit the naval gun entry, and after a few restarts it seems pretty common in the following entries.  During this I noticed that you forgot to delete some of your saves.  Also a few typos I quickly noticed: there are a few spots where you use the word 'game' when I assume you meant 'plane' and you also go back and forth between spelling 'recent' correctly and incorrectly in the lore entry titles (examples included) .

TBH I didn't understand this paragraph... What exactly is your idea about?
If I remember right the other contacts either give you a few guns immediately, or at least unlock acquisition researches, while all the UAC weapons need to be found and researched before you can buy them.  The chainsaw comment seems to be part wanting a UAC unlock that doesn't need to be found in the field and part wanting chainsaws.

EXALT and chainguns? Not sure what you mean...

I've seen EXALT Liquidators using BlackOps Light miniguns.  They can't be researched but instead unlock automatically later on.

I did.  I researched both a soldier and a navigator.  Neither gave me it.  I see in the tree there is a leader class, but I don't recall ever seeing one.  Here's my last save if you want to check.  I have some in my Aquaca base you can transfer to my HQ.

I've pretty much wrapped up my current game, so I figure I should give my feedback.  I'm very impressed by your work, and I find the various arcs compelling to progress on.  However I felt that some of the later arcs took too long to progress on or perhaps relied too much on chance to spawn.  I only started encountering Osiron after I had power suits and railguns, and I could do the Cydonia mission before I met the Syndicate.  As of March 2000 I've pretty much finished researching alien technology, but I still haven't finished the Syndicate line and I haven't encountered any MiB except the agents at abduction sites.  On the matter of research, I was browsing the tech tree and I saw that I could advance more on the TfTD line but I need an item called "Dagon".  Is this in the game?  I haven't encountered one, but I don't see a TfTD percent on the first page so I'm curious if it's still to come.  The last thing I can think of is I still would like better armor for infiltrations.  I still think some form of jumpsuit would work, or a durathread suit.

For now I probably won't play again for a while.  I have some other games to play, and then I'll probably get to Piratez first.  I'm excited to see how your game will have progressed by then.

Another crash with megaworms.  This crash came up after it approached my agent.  I think it might have been trying to melee.

Edit:  I got a save.  There's one in sight, so you can just run up to it.

I downloaded the hotfix but now its causing a new problem.  This message pops up and the game closes.  When I restart XCOMFiles is disabled and trying to turn it on just causes the message again.
