Troubleshooting / New compatibility issues with Wine?

I'm coming back to my XPiratez save after a long hiatus, only to find that the game refuses to boot. I upgraded my save exactly as described, and now I think it might be a compatibility issue with Open Xcom Extended. Is anyone else using Extended with wine and can help me?

Ive seen so many mods like X-Piratez say not to use it, but it's one of the best things Open Xcom has done to the game. Being assured that tanky aliens like Chryssalids and Cyberdisks will die when I blow them up with a High Explosive rather than having to guess that they will die, then they don't and they kill your troopers is great. It also makes breaching and blowing up cover actually useful. If that applied to 2012 XCOM, then grenades would be useless, because after the grenade explodes and takes out the alien's cover, then the alien would move to new cover on their turn.

All the text looks wrong, is there something wrong? It's just a vanilla, 1.0 install. Has anyone else had this problem?

There's like 6 different ways to compile the nightly files. Which way is the easiest, or the one that you prefer?

So XCOM 2 will not work on my weak ass computer, so i decided to play OpenXcom Final Mod Pack instead, but the Mac folder will not accept the UFO Defense files, whenever i try to move them over, there is a cancel icon and the files refuse to move over. Help Please.
