XPZ Strategy/Tactics / I need some advice on strategy for early, mid, and late game.

What research should I focus on at first?  Which vehicles should I use as soon as they're available?  Which factions and mission types should I focus on first?  When should I start building new bases?

Also, how do I start hunting down ships in the early game (before I have access to the mercenaries' fighters)?

Just getting back into playing X-PirateZ, but I just remembered that my units have a tendency to be a little on the weak side sometimes (I've read that, overall, they're worse than XCOM soldiers.  What do I edit to give my gals better starts from the get-go?

XPiratez / How do I edit the save file to increase my current funds?

I'm wanting to edit the save file so that I can increase my current funds (not funding, but the funds I've earned and have yet to spend).  I know where the save file is, but I'm still not sure as how to go about it.  Could someone help me out here?

Before anyone says anything, yes, I know the answer's probably in ufopedia, but that site's down right now, with no sign of coming back up any time soon.

I need help installing the mod in the above link, but help has been less than forth-coming from that specific thread.  Could someone please tell me how to install the mode before the whole thing drives in insane?

Troubleshooting / How do I install the nightlys?

I've read the instructions, and I've asked around on Reddit, but I still have no idea how to install the nightly!  Seriously, someone, please, take my hand and guide me through this step by step!  I'm using Windows 8 and a Steam copy of UFO Defense.
