Either that, or the chance gets really low for their missions to fire. But you can get the research from other sources, iirc.

OK, and why i also get negative score from "dead men looted" debriefing string?

Because you killed civilians that are most like part of one of the countries that are giving you money to trouble the Star Gods and their henchmen. They don't give you money to harass and kill their citizens.

33
The benefits of interrogating them usually outweigh the minor point loss. If you don't have the prison space and sell them that can still be a net win at the beginning when every $ counts.

You run around with flintlocks, so there is definitivly space for some 20th/21st century style cars. Large parts of the world are even less advanced, they probably know about petrol cars, but all they have is steam power, if they are lucky.

Maybe you just shot them with reactionshots? They look like Leia. They aren't very beefy.

They are mentioned in the description of the mission though, so maybe it is not the correct one? I am not sure about the mission name, smuggler hideout/lair, whatever. They also have a golden saint.

Last time I played it they were still spawing after destroying the portals, but maybe less? Those things are made out of high grade explodium, so be careful. I had a Thunderhorse by the time I got that mission, so I had a lot of gals, and it still took about 1 1/2 turns to kill a pyramid thingy (they weren't all in one place, of course.
I am not sure if melee works but I had some of my gals working on them with their swords.

37
It costs 250k, but you only have 100k. You need more money.

38
I ignore the sea adventure mission.

But I met them with some Lokk'Naar in an underground mission and there getting close wasn't the problem. My Lokk'Naar not being used to melee on the other hand ...

Lassos work, as well as ahh, I forgot the name, the 1x1 melee weapon that deals electric damge the shock'a'fist.

Taking apart a flechette gun early in the game wouldn't help, because all the brainers could say would be that they have a clue how this works, because they don't understand the underlying principles.

If you gave a medieval person a modern pc he wouldn't be able to figure it out because he'd be missing the needed background knowledge (applies to most modern people as well, but the brainers are in the lab for a reason) and they would be missing crucial tools. I imagine the lab is getting upgraded over time, which is why for example the scanner is an important research project. Let's assume medieval guy has power because a power source was be delivered back as well. He'd be able to figure out some things by turning it on an off, trying things on the screen with the mouse an keyboard. But there is nothing to see on the mainboard why something works.

Oh, they ARE simple to unlock compared to the advanced stuff.

42
You get XECs, what more do you want?

You also get the Iron Man armor, though without inbuilt weapons.

But you can escort your own ships. So just select the slowest ship, or the one that has the longest travel time if they are all fast, as target for the 3 escorts.

It is also something that has been explained here repeatedly already.

Well, you don't need 2-stage missions for cruise ships anymore because the engine and modern computers can handle it. So just keep playing...

had two games that went on for 4years and then in both the game I get a star god/mercenary hideout attack that i cant repel.

Is there some tricks to avoid/counter the end game stuff.

After 4 ingame years you should be plenty ready for mercs, and even star gods. Mercs don't like getting shot by lasers, so if you use mostly piercing weapons and hope that it works against every foe you are out of luck. You have to use different weapons for different enemies.
Both fall to the usual as well: melee. I clear entire merc ships in a turn or two by using a gal in furiosa armor with a blood axe (red codex), while the rest of the gang kills the ones that are flying.

Hovertanks and Sectopods have blue shields that you need to get rid off before you can properly damage them. Try using an arena flak cannon, it can strip the shields in one auto shot. After that something like a portable lascannon (which is a bit hard to use, admittedly) can kill them, but lighter weapons like heavy lasers work as well. If all else fails use weapons that strip armor first, like deathblossoms loaded with chem ammo or chain guns. Sectopods have pretty good reactions though, and usually don't move much. They can kill a gal in annihilator armor in one shot if you are unlucky.
If you have your own hovertanks or XECs with lasers/gauss it is not even fair anymore.

If you are still using RPGs after 4 years you seriously neglected your research.

I am in 2605, but for most of the last 1 1/2 years I've been waiting for star gods with a higher pay grade than novice to capture and go on. I wish they would attack me (at least in my main base, the others might survive as well, but they'd probably have troubles capturing them).
Haven't managed to bring a silver towers down, because my Metallo is too slow. And three other craft (2 Sabres with meteor missiles and laser/gauss and a devastator with 3 meteor and an implosion launcher) were not enough.
