I always hated doing base defenses because I am extremely impatient and I hate waiting for the AI when/to attack.

So unfortunately, smoke abuse and using your best high TU/reactions (preferably) scout for your other gals to snipe from out of line of sight.

And now I believe base defenses have 5? levels (or am I confusing with assaulting enemy bases?) so, haven't really tested that.

Even after you've wiped out most of their enemies... they tend to hide/hang back deep in the hangars and then it just gets silly after that.

One other tactic I was somewhat successful with was having two or three high melee/strength gals near the chokepoint to be able to dash behind an enemy, hit once or twice with a melee and be able to get back into a room to block Line of Sight, but it was lots of micromanaging.

It has been my intent to sort of coallate the information here in the forums to build out these pages, and it has also sparked me to start my own campaign to gain more first hand experience.

I had the same idea for awhile but since I haven't had time to really play and SO MUCH has changed so quickly, I can't help but feel adding anything from past versions would just frustrate/disappoint new players of new versions as strategies/"bugs" are patched out or adjusted.

Honestly, you have no idea how often I read your comments and think, "I'm letting Ivan down :(" and wish I had the opportunity to record more. But yes, I look(ed) forward to your (nearly) every day comment on the videos.

I am planning to see if I can do once a week (Fridays morning to midday ish?) but my son has some surgeries coming up, so hoping for the best.

Yeah, no template was made yet for the direct vessel pages. And yes, the plan would be to have all the information on the article (similarly to the unit pages).

I'm wondering if making dedicated templates for each vessel/unit would be easier to maintain (update one page full of the details per version, rather than trying to update every page?). Just not sure how to implement it better.

Isn't there something in OXCE that can reduce HP when used? So couldn't the Popper have its main weapon cost X HP (whatever it's HP is) to use, thus exploding itself in melee range?

Essentially, a Chryssalid with a OXCE melee weapon that self-inflicts health damage proportionate to the user's health, and then on death (like a Zombie), produce an explosion?

I like it... except for I have no idea how that's protective (unlike Warrior).

Maybe this should be swapped with Leather Armor and Leather Armor can be an alternate costume for Warrior?

Yeah, I am almost 100% going to start a new campaign once Yankes updates to a more recent Nightly that contains Soldier Diaries so I can use all these things.

Maybe this will help to raise your spirits... finally I had the time to make an armor inspired by one of your designs. Couldn't go beige, because there's no beige in X-Com (except Interception/Geoscape). But R&B had never failed me before (Red & Black). Whatever is going on with you, your fan art is the best this mod ever received.

Damn, that looks really good.
