Aren't terror missions supposed to not affect your rating till you contact the alliance? Because right now they're really killing my rating in my current game, leaving me really confused what I'm supposed to do right now.

Well I understand it's a lot of work, it's just a general suggestion! Like something to maybe be done alongside an art cleanup or something. Nothing super mega turbo important or anything. Just seems adding some jewelry or tattoos or scars or something to some of the portraits may help add a little flavor to them. At the moment touching up some of the older heads is definitely more of a priory I think, though still minor. They do have a sort of charm to them anyway after all.

And yeah, there's just something nice about that portrait, somehow she seems to be one of my better pirates this run. Stunned a church priest with ol revolver bullets on one job, killed 3 dudes with a cutlass in one turn in another.

Another minor art based question I have is the UAC carbine, it seems a bit... Off compared to the other doom weapons? Not exactly as close a representation... If I could recommend a replacement, can I offer this?



This is the representation the rifle has in several mods, such as brutal doom and Doom Rougelike arsenal. I feel it's a lot closer in style.

I only recently started playing again with version 99, and I don't know why but I really like how one of the portraits (The white haired one with red eyes, one of the newer designed ones) appears to have an arm tattoo that's preserved in all armors. And looking at a few more, some have necklaces that are preserved across all armors.

Given the "Default" armor now appears to be tribal, it feels kinda fitting and flavorful. But it makes me wonder, is there any intention to further diversify some of the portraits like this? Maybe inking up a few others or other little traits that can be different per portrait? It's a small thing in this case but it does add a lot more individuality.

Maybe a bit hokey but... Considering this is the Piratez mod any chance of raiding actual blue water vessels?

Like I dunno, guild yachts or academy research craft? Seems a bit weird but fitting with at least one element of the theme.

The amount of hype for the modding in xcom2 is pretty unrealistic honestly. It's still using unreal, and unreal has been a near closed system to modding for a long time. I sincerely doubt epic made 4 more friendly, and that firaxis can unfuck it at all.

An actual 3D piratez would be pretty cool though.

I would say keeping it as the weird skinsuit makes the most sense, since well that's what it is. It's the exact same armor. Though shouldn't it be a different color than green like the default one? I don't think they'd put themselves in the most dominant mercenary color, which is why I think the original was blue.

Well if you've run into a few reticulans you might have their plasma gun researched. It's not the best choice but it worked decently well for me the first time I ran into the mercs.

Also a silly question, the red desert terrain is supposed to do stun damage sometimes right? It's an interesting effect and for some reason I can't help but wonder what it actually is lorewise. ... Well it could just be extreme weather but I don't see it happening in the normal deserts.

Yeah I don't even know if this is the right place or way to ask... Sorry in advance!

I've been using a quickly made mod that uses TFTD music in UFO for playing piratez, since the default music never felt right. Though recently it stopped feeling right too. So... I just as quickly made a mod using the music from x-com:apocolypse in piratez.

I want to know though, is it possible in the metadata to allow this to ALSO be used in UFO without copying it and wasting space? It's kinda growing on me.
