Open Feedback / GitHub ?
« on: June 20, 2010, 05:01:27 pm »
Hello,

First i would like to say that i don't have experience with git / github. I'm only used (in job and in home) svn. Anyway i see a trend in open source software to put their project in github. Apparently it allows easier branching / merging, multiple ppl can create their forks, add features, fix bugs and then ask you to merge them into main branch.

So maybe it should be considered? Maybe not now, but in future.

Maybe Serge could write more? He put Ufo2000 source in github.

Hello,

What do you think about this game? Clearly, it isn't as popular as x-com 1&2 - for example no one is trying to remake it.

In my opinion, it was pretty nice game, it had nice features (equipping aircrafts with shields, engines, etc). Also factions was interesting idea.

« on: May 26, 2010, 05:49:18 pm »
Hello,

Let's share information, how we've found this project. Let me start ;)

I've found this project by accident on sf. I was looking for x-com project and found this project 2 days after start :) Couple of months later i've talked with supsuper about creating website for it. That's how this page started ;)

Offtopic / X-com-reloaded - another project similar to openxcom?
« on: May 26, 2010, 05:45:53 pm »
Hello,

Some time ago i've found a project on google code. There isn't many information about it, but it may be similar to openxcom, because it uses data from original game.

Maybe it would be good to contact authors of that project and point them to openxcom. I know, that supsuper doesn't want to form a team, so i'm not proposing merge of projects, but maybe it would be possible to share information about algorithms, data files, etc.

Or maybe this x-com-reloaded could use some code from openxcom? ;) But it may be too soon for that.

Anyway, i don't know how to contact authors :P I don't see any mails to them. Anyone has an idea how to do that?

Here's link to that project:
