Very cool, stuff!  Everytime I read up on this, I can't help but think of "Predator" movies.  I think this alien helps round out the pantheon of aliens found in pop culture these days.   Well, no one has done ET yet :)

That's one thing about "intuitive".  It's different for everyone.  I do not find it intuitive myself.  Of course, I'm not a master of the command line (not a newbie by any stretch either), but I think in code easier.  I feel "hampered" when I have to start using bash after working in python for so long. If I need to drop to command line, I use envoy instead.

Kudos to you though if it's intuitive for you, and I admire your skill :)

I understand the concept, but I personally feel it would be one more thing to juggle when there is enough to keep tabs on.  Base space and money already feels scare especially early on and this sucks up more real estate.  I wouldn't be upset if it was an optional "mod" though, but that sounds like quite a bit a work to put support in the game for it.

I get the same crash on startup.  My res is 1440x900. 

I'm also having trouble getting the nightly up and running.  The earliest nightly I can download is 3/3/2015.  I noticed the nightly for this mod is almost a month older than the oldest nightly.  I tried run it, but got some yaml errors with the xcom rules.

At some point a "Modders Handbook" might be nice too, pointing folks to yaml checkers, falko's tools, pckview, mapview,  info on sprites and pallettes, ruleset references, etc.

Yes, this would be so great.  It's quite painful looking through tons of threads and the wiki to get good info on modding.

Okay, maybe my definition is still too open-ended:)  Your point is well taken.  Xcom feels more "simulator" to me personally than RPG in some ways with a strong focus on tactical battles, and less "high adventure" of RPG style games that also have battles.

Understood.  That's why I posted in General Discussion, not as a "suggestion" or "feature" request.  It's more of thought experiment, and it would require a bit of code changes.   I analyzing the actual combat part of the game that seems pretty well implemented.
