What do you think is the next bill paying strategy after chateau?. I´m in august right now, building my second base to intercept civilian traffic (Something I know is finite), and somewhat managing to pay all the accounts by now, but I think Chateau is not so reliable (Not every time you get rodeos, or apples in those rodeos). Selling small ship engines is kind of working from now, but if you can share some strategies in this point, it is going to be great.

Sorry for even need to ask, but i have trouble upgrading to the latest version.
(It´s the first time i even try to upgrade)

I am currently running:  0_99_F_4 and want to upgrade to the new 0_99_F_5

I have done following:  - Downloading the 0_99_F_5 version
                                     - Extracted this into a fresh folder
                                     - Copy the UFO and TFTD files from the F4 to the F5 folder

                                      Now i should have a working 0_99_F_5 Version

Now the part were i have trouble:
                                     - I copied my latest .Sav-File from the F4 folder to the F5 folder.

                                      Based on the "upgrade Savegame"-Thread i need now to edit this savegame.

                                      Past versions seems to need to add and delete lines.
                                      F4 -to-> F5 seems only to need: "Delete the whole 'possibleMissions:' section in your save to avoid crashes."

                                      I open my savefile and search possible mission -> Found it.
                                     
                                      But were do i stop marking and deleting? What does belong to the possible mission section?
                                      Is the first line I don´t delete: "deadSoldiers:"?
                                      Or do I delete to much?

                                      Or do I make other mistakes in upgrading?

Sorry for asking in this detail, but i tend to fuck up even the most easiest modding/edit actions -.-

from 'available missions' in 'alien strategy'

There are several  STR_MISSION_RAID and the other. You just delete then and no more problems at the end of the month.

I have the same crash, it happens at the end of the month.

Same for me. I followed the update instructions. I test finishing the month ignoring everything else to see if things are working. Same error, appearing at the end of the month.

Don´t touch the possibleMissions: then?. I say, only delete those two strings from that section?.

Hello.

Just to say sorry for no updates in a long time. I start working and well, I have to travel a lot and being doing regularly 12-13 hours daily (plus trips, learning the stuff from new work, etc) are leaving me with little time. I hope when the situations turns a little more relaxed, I will continue doing the LP.

Hello!.

I have a question about early game ships guns. What is the best strategy to use spike balls?. I found then very hard to use. For civilian traffic I have to wait until 25mm cannons because when the balls hit, they destroy the vessels. And for small ships well, is not common in the very early game to survive with an aircar a vessel interception. If somebody could give me some tips about then, thanks in advance.

Forget it. It is a windows. It is just the angle that make my gal unable to see the guy who is shooting her.

Personally I use the extra naughty mod. But I think this is a good idea. And I like more this cave hunting image :).

Im not modder, im just user. So this "You can train your solders basic skills." meaning for me "You can play a game, click th soldier, train it. Or build/research building for training". I dont know how i know need mod. But now understand.

Think in this way. OpenXcom is a engine that have some improvements, but it is basically "vanilla" Xcom we all know and love. It let you run the game, and yes, some mods too, but only in the framework of the original game mechanism.

 OXCE and OXCE+ are modifications, addons, improvements, or whatever you want to name it, that let you do some other stuff that in "vanilla" OXC is not possible. This is, it add some other mechanisms that are not in the normal game. But, you need a mod that use those mechanisms for these to work. OXCE and OXCE+ are not mods for the game, but for the engine.

One example of this is the possibility to add pilots to the ships. It is not a vainilla feature, and is very hard that you will see it in OpenXcom in the short place (Or ever). But OXCE+ add this possibility. The thing here is the word possibility. If you´re a modder, you can use it in your mod, but if you don´t want, you don´t. It is the same with OXCE and training soldiers.

I hope this help to clarify some misunderstandings.

Well, I´m really trying not to use the reload rule, it does not have the spirit of a good LP, or Xcom. And for the instant grenade, yes, I prefer that way, but it make the smoke curtain strategy more effective, so I´m trying to cope with the general feeling about this.

Will post today or tomorrow new episode BTW. Thanks for following.

One thing you should do is when you finish researching Advanced Firearms, switch out my rifle for a Tactical Sniper.  It's super accurate, does a lot of damage, and it can use HE rounds! The only drawback is that whoever you give it to, it will make them a little less mobile.

I love those, with the HE ammo. When I get the skymarshall, I tend to have one or two soldiers with then, in the best possible position, to shoot those pesky hard to get foes. Yes, not very mobile, but it hit hard.

Ok, this is weird.

I make a new game. Activate debug mode. The first month only spawn a temple raid, and a pogrom. I get the have a party research, + a perfect (ctrl + k) temple raid. I did not went to the pogrom. Result. -77 on the first month. Again, this is normal? Sorry if I´m being a pain, maybe this is intended, but it looks weird for me.
