Shooting point blank (from 1 tile away) is a special case. Thinking you can walk up to a combat ready enemy, put your rifle to their head and hit them with 100% chance is beyond silly and I'm sure we all understand it...

No, I don't.
I think it's beyond silly that you cannot do that (unless you have a 3 ton 15-century naval cannon in your hand).
I have listed the reasons many times, I won't repeat myself.

OXCE+ is merged too, but it has 2 serious issues atm... one with proxies and one with corpse recovery... I'll publish when it's fixed and tested at least a bit.

Hi all,

So, I own the xcom games on steam but as I am on a mac I cannot download them.

I need the files so I am able to play the milestone on my mac.

Does anyone have any workaround or advice that can help me?

When I installed OpenXcom (actually OXCE+ but it's thr same) on my Mac, I just uploaded the necessary files from Windows/Steam into a Google drive as ZIP and then downloaded them into my Mac from Google drive.

I was unable to land a Lightning loaded with 4 tanks at a terror site. The craft would fly out to the site, then simply return home as soon as it arrived, as if it had no ground crew. I can get tank-only missions easily in the custom battle generator as well as in base defense missions, but I can't get my craft to make one.

This is in Nightly 2017-11-09.

This has been implemented recently in the nightlies...

It would be possible to implement xcom2012-like sound cues... but it would be useful only for the player, not for the AI... and thus my interest in it is not very high.

It doesn't increase accuracy at shorter ranges, only decreases it at longer ranges. While I do feel accuracy should go down at longer ranges, my (much) larger concern is that it doesn't significantly improve at close range until you're no more than 1 tile away from an enemy, and even then the number of missed shots is ridiculous. Even diagonally adjacent, soldiers with poor accuracy often miss.

If UFO Extender Accuracy would address this problem in some way, I would use it. If not, I don't need it.

I COMPLETELY agree... accuracy should go up at close range.... and be a guaranteed hit at 1 tile range.
Unfortunately, many people don't share our opinion.

There are many approaches of how to merge the two together:
- from the simplest of just starting TFTD new game automatically after win at cydonia (which is nothing else than saving the user two or three clicks to do it manually)
- to a complete engine rewrite (and potentially completely new artwork)

First the idea needs to be formulated, then reviewed for feasibility, then compromises will inevitably be made... and then a lot of time will be required for both coding and modding.

In my humble opinion a "complete" merge is too much effort for little to no gain.

Hi,

please do not install "openxcom_git_master_2017_12_20_2026" or any other version of OpenXcom before installing OXCE+.

OXCE+ can (and should) be installed as standalone... it contains all necessary files.

The issues you are experiencing are (probably) caused by mixing of files between OpenXcom and OXCE+

Effective immediately, I put OXCE+ development on hold for uncertain amount of time.

Once the atmosphere gets friendly again and the community is able to cut off cancerous elements, I'll be happy to return...

Supply ships are part of base construction and infiltration missions.
They come in the last waves... shortly before the base is constructed.
Same in openxcom and in the original game.

Ufopedia is correct too... after you see a supply ship, there is or will be a base nearby!
(infiltration and base construction missions create alien bases too)
